Hello John,
As usual, you and I have very similar points of view.
1. I do to and have coined the following messages for new invitations to become friends I receive.
Happy to do so.
Thanks for not leading with an ad.
I turn down so many it isn't funny,
because of leading with a sales pitch.
Happy to have you as a new friend.

However, sometimes I see someone
with promise, who just hasn't worn the newbie off yet.
Happy to have you as a new friend.

2. Yes sometimes there seems to be and the shine has worn off some. Which is a natural occurrence. While we all like our friends and we socialize in our discussions, or sharing world views on many topics, we also like to reward efforts of others often times through popularity polls. Something I have noticed with the large communities, is that they often have these rewards. Use polling features and the technology that allows the many to participate. See number 3 as this melds right into your last comment I concur with to a point.
3. I like your quote "Those who don't like me can leave me alone". However, I didn't start this to create a fracas. I did so because I was wrongly "Banned for Harassment" by someone that takes no responsibility for the the forum this discussion started in, Photo of the Week Nominations" as I could not reply there because of this action of the New POTW Admin. Who's reasoning here in public was because she could, when asked why she banned me. Even though I made no more posts there per Roger's request while he sought to find a solution. After Kathleen absolved herself of any responsibility for the forum. Then She Banned ME!
I guess that has turned into a fracas, but one I am willingly standing my ground in.
By doing so we have learned quite a bit and solved the issue that was brought up in the Photo of the Week Nominations forum. All linked in the first post in this thread.
You see the Photo of the Week, shall continue under the guidance of Roger or a consortium between him and others. I suggest JoAnne Green. ;-) So all is good.
Those folks wishing to share their photography, will have a place to showcase their favorite pics, outside of our personal galleries. By the by, I do recommend checking your friends Blogs and Galleries. The Gallery even has a rating system for photos. May be some way to incorporate that as it now seems there is going to be a split up of the POTW's ;-)
Ain't life grand? It has been a great weekend here upper 70's clear blue skies a few friendly cloud pillows and a slight easterly breeze, here on the west coast of Clearwater.
Thanks John, for being real,
Jim
The Response was unexpected! But Appreciated!
