Tasmania 24/08/2005 11:08 To AdlandPro Friends, This is sad to hear. I hope the one responsible will consult good psychologist to improve their behaviour. For one fool she will miss lots of friends, she must keep it in her mind and stay Warm regards Eva ______________________ http://worldwin-ecard.com

Not sure what the rudeness was about, but Kathy you have those sorts of people all over the world. We can't always just "moderate" them out... but you know, they have a way of weeding themselves out too with time. If other's actions and sayings start to dictate OUR lives and DREAMS... then we are allowing that to happen... As an adult, I choose to feel sorry for them and move on! Ther's negativity and hatred all over the world unfortunately... I know for me, I don't like moderated forums, and if I have someone posting ugly things or being rude in my forum, I just remove them. Just my two cents worth... Linda/CMAS, BS, RN "With Our Heads Held High" Yahoo IM - BizNurse2001 AOL IM - NetEmpowered

Hi Kathy (and John), Perhaps everyone should be required to moderate their own forums. I don't think moderators other than the forum owner is a good idea. It only creates another level of hierarchy which only leads to more resentment. I am sorry you had to go through what you had to go through with another member, but why not create a forum, put that person's email on it, and ask the members to decide what to do? I think we can deal with such things internally without structural changes. Please, let's not self destruct here - it's a great community! I'm kind of new in participating here, but I really value your posts. Your friend, Judy Woodson

Hi Kathy n Everyone, What I am about to write is my opinion. First, lets continue to make this a positive place to be. I've seen AdLandPro change alot since I frist came here. "We" used to market to each other hard. Now I see people helping people. Unfortunately there are some rude, negative people in this world. Can we not remove posts from our forums to save space or if we do not care for others to see what someone else says? I'm not trying to be cold here, and I do feel bad this has happened to Hilda. We have the power to let or not let peoples words or actions effect us. Who would moderate the forums? Each forum owner? I prefer to control my own. This is my own opinion. Warmly, ~Mark

Hello Kathy :) and everyone. Here's my personal opinion that moderators are absolutely unnecessary. We are our own moderators of our own forums. A perfect example, it was mentioned that Hilda was bothered by someone (about the death of her son) whoever bothered her disgusts me, and (depending on the circumstance) should be immediately removed from Adland end of story. You are going to have bad apples everywhere, can't be avoided, for the most part Adland is our happy place. So to start moderating boards like we're a bunch of children I don't find helpful. 1) people who write nasty things to anyone, or about something on a forum (so the person who's forum it is can easily delete the posts) and 2) people can always block friends out I hope I don't sound cold or bitchy about it, but I think a few bad apples shouldn't spoil the bunch (I think the saying goes.) Even moderated boards can't control what goes into them, they can only control what gets deleted out (so that is exactly what we do now anyways.) Yes, everyone has the freedom of speech and sometimes that goes to a rude nasty level of unnecessary cruelty of words toward people and yes, it's even happened to me here but as my brother says 'let it slide off like ice' can't take these losers seriously. Just delete posts, if need be, and friends, after all if they are going to treat you in a bad way, they aren't really your friends. :) Elizabeth
