Re: PUBLIC OPINION NEEDED

Hello Kathy, It would appear a great deal has been going on since I left two weeks ago. I find it deplorable that such activity is taking place on AdlandPro. Especially, to such a nice person as Hilda. How sad for all those individuals that respect others and actually want to network. I'm very sorry to see this. Differences of opinions happen and that's just a part of life. However, hurting, insulting and deliberate cutting down of individuals, is really just unacceptable. What more can I say. All the best to everone!

Hi Kathy and John, I thought when we set up a forum we had the option of moderating the forum so I think you are asking, not if the forums need to be moderated but more if there should be a code of ethics we all need to be responsible to post by and I would agree, yes, there should be a code of ethics, and, if there were someone that wanted to take on the job of moderating complaints then that might work but I worry that it will be a very stressful, unrewarding job. Certainly if there are certain people who are creating an unpleasant atmosphere for others then it would be nice to somehow block these people from having the privilege of using the services here at Adland Pro. We all must remember, this is a privilege to have the opportunity to meet and share both business opportunities and ideas with other business minded people. We have the opportunity to learn so much in this type of setting. So I end this saying that if there are certain people out there maliciously hurting others or causing people to leave I would agree that some system needs to be in place to remove the offenders. Kathy, you and John have been very creative in bringing new highlights to Adland Pro, I would trust whatever you two decide with Bogdan. Good luck with this!

Hi Kathy/John, Although I am not a very active member of the forums, I do read them a lot and agree that some form of moderation is sometimes required. Some of the comments made are just plain juvenile whilst I have also read some pretty 'mean' comments. I don't know what happened with Hilda, but it seems to me that if someone feels they have the right to make abusive comments of a personal nature, they should also understand that the community has a right to expel/ban them from adland. I am a member of StudioTraffic and they have a great forum with several moderators, and when someone steps out of line the moderators are 'right there' and can be quite blunt at times, but it seems to be effective. Well, I am sorry to hear that one incident is about to spoil it for the rest of us. I do not think there is any need for a moderator, we all know if we like a forum we stay and if we don't we never return--end of story. My Question would be why did not the person who was abused send a notice to the person who was head of the forum? Too often we fail to take responsibility for our own feelings and try and have someone else fight our battles. People need to learn to stand up and spell out their own case. The community would then be better served and we could all tell the otner person to tone things down. That would be a much more powerful voice, in my opinion. My vote is for no moderators. The less rules the better. We did away with communism, no need to bring it back where everyone is told what to do. The majority can speak out to anyone who is out of line and that would be far more powereful. Right now I have no idea what happened, it is all hearsay, even though from sources that should be reliable. Thanks for the invite this is an excellent topic and should have come out in the open, as it now is. Thanks to all of your comments people. Great group Adlandpro. Hello Kathy , thank you for the invite. I dont know the facts of the matter so i can not comment. What i will say is there seems to be alot of bickering and unrest going on . This community should be about helping one another , supporting , caring , making friends . Lets leave the bickering to the polititions. Wishing you well Nick
