Hi Joyce,

Gardens do give us memories.  Today I ate yellow cherries for lunch.  I remember my Dad planted a tree when he was in his 70's.  He said he  probably would never have the opportunity to enjoy the cherries.

He was not thinking of his having the delicious fruit but of those who would remember him.  I stopped a couple of years ago and the new home owners let me pick some of the yellow cherries, I so dearly love.

The seeds from today's lunch are going to be put in soil and allowed to grow into trees.  Will I live to enjoy the fruit.  Maybe not, but a memory will be created for someone.

Thanks for stopping in.  Do come back

Hello Mary and Gardening friends

You will recall a link supplied for Mottisfont Abbey and the English, National Collection of Old Fashioned Roses

Look at these images and tell me that you can't smell the roses.

Oh June at Mottisfont

Go take a look

IT IS SO WORTH IT

Ok Roger,

That was quite a show.  Roses like trees, hanging in the water, vines----you showed us all. If we can't come in person we  can enjoy the view.

Now a simple story of a nothing garden.  I have mint growing all over the place and yesterday it came to me that I should thin some out.  While standing at my kitchen window, I observed a yellow bird land on the mint, hanging on for dear life as the wind rocked it back and forth.  It was doubt a finch which are becoming quite rare due to the aggressive black birds. I got my binoculars and watched for quite awhile as he continued to feed.  I think he was eating blossoms or perhaps some bugs.  Anyway it was a beautiful sight.

I also want to share something very unusual about two of my houseplants.  I have had a mother-in-laws tongue for many years but just now saw it bloom sitting on my front porch......first time to see that sight.

In side I have a rope plant that has been my houseguest for 15 years.  I just observed it blooming for the third time since I purchased it.  It is the most beautiful and strange flower----a ball of tiny pink stars.  I am being blessed by all this beauty.

A garden is a good place for your mind to watch, observe, slow down, relax, and enjoy the beautiful... creations  that mother nature has created... listen to the sounds...that occur there... and try to be "as one with with nature"... self peace, stress relief and tranquality is what I look forward to in a garden....

Matt,

Come back and tell us about your garden if you have one.  I can't imagine that you don't have some plants.

So nice you came by.
