That is a good question that I don't have an answer for but as this forum goes on I guess we will find out! By the way what is the main Adland? Is it the one you pay to join? I am only a free member unable to pay for the upgrades and I really don't care if I ever get the potw award, my award is making great friends like you Linda! That is the biggest blessing and award I can ever want! As Always, God Bless! Sincerly, Susan

Hi Linda, You ask a very good question. I have wondered the same thing. There doesn't seem to be rhythmn or reason to who gets put on the voting list. I think it comes down to who John Sanchez or LaNell would like to see on the list. I think it's basically just a popularity contest. But that is just my 2 cents worth. Have a good week! I find that some of us would rather spend more time doing our business then voting for someone. It seems that some of the members spend so much time on the computer thinking of things to put on a forum. I don't have time to read them all, let alone be interested in somebody having something to say all day. And everything is labeled, "You really ought to see this" or "This is something you shouldn't miss" or "Urgent" or whatever. I have to agree with some of the other posters here in that it is more of a popularity contest, just like it was in high school. It also seems that people do gravitate toward something that interests them and many times it is because they like to go shopping for something special for themselves or for gifts. It seems that the important businesses that carry products or services that are needed are ignored quite a bit, such as communication or nutrition etc. It goes back to the idea, that people love to buy something that makes themselves feel good. Some people just love to shop, period. If we had a way to recognize someone that really ran an honest business (this does NOT mean the others are not honest - just that these need to be honest) with a product or service could benefit by more people being directed to their business, it would be more advantageous. This kind of reminds me of how people just love to have the phone close by all day, mainly for just talk. Friends and relatives are important, but if it is taking too much time from your business, then it is time to put down the phone and get busy. This can carry over to the forums. Maybe I am jealous. I would love to be able to come in here and visit and make more friends more often, but I don't have that kind of time. If someone wants to know me better, they could write to me, too. That way I would not be hitting on everybody that doesn't care for my personality or my business. Here again, I am not saying that all friends are not important and even those friends can lead to others that ARE interested. When I have someone write me it is usual because they want to sell me something. Okay, I have been long winded. Time to get to work. :-) http://mymangosteen.com/NanK http://mangosteen.here.ws http://todayshealthchoices.com http://HorizonAdvantage-International.net

Dear Linda, I haven't been as active in your forums lately, as I belong to quite a few and have had to pick and choose more carefully. I have been really busy with work, which limits my time in Adland. I had to come check this out, though. John and LaNell make the list from the people who have been nominated. That means someone went to their nomination forum and said their friend should be up for POTW. So, anyone can be nominated. And, to my knowledge, John and LaNell do not nominate anyone. What I don't like lately is the way the voting seems to be going. There have been negative comments, people campaigning outside of Adland, and to me this ruins the whole purpose of POTW--to honor someone in Adland. I am in the running again this week. Frankly, I don't care if I win or not. I have plenty of friends that know who I am and honor me everyday by posting in my forums, and I post in theirs. I try to help them, and they surely help me. Don't get me wrong--it would be great to see my face on the main page of Adland Pro. But I will continue to take care of business, and friendships, either way. Take Care,

Crafty I agree with Mr. Harvey that someone probably nominated that person because they are either friends and or have helped in some way. We do not always know that person as there are thousands of members and I am sure you probably never see their posts because you are not invited to that particular forum. I suggest you leave things as they are because you are assuming that they are not active in the main adland area. YOU HAVE A VOTE to give and you will give it to someone you know that is deserving or you don't vote at all. That is your prerogative. Not being mean or anything but I am quite active and Sometimes I see names that I've never heard of, so I don't vote for them, so I vote for someone that I do know and have had experience with.
