Recruiting is all about helping people. If you make prospects feel they are going to be a part of a community that will grow toward their goals together and support each other, they'll want to join your business. Most of us have been burnt once or twice, so suspicion needs to be overcome and trust established. Many recruiting methods work. It seems to be a matter of timing and testing for me. The business I'm in has a very low entry price to get started, so recruits have little to lose. First, I sell them my integrity, then a system for success with ample support. That's it. No magic bullet or lofty promises. Honesty works best.
