Image Creation & colors
5/10/2006 4:52:38 PM
Linda, I have a question about image sizing. I have an image that I am using in the top section of the page that doesn't exactly fit the paramaters of the cell when it comes to width. Using html I can stretch it to fit and it doesn't look too bad. When it comes to graphics is the acceptable? What I'm wondering is how this will look in other browsers (I've got IE and Firefox). I presume that a better practice would be to create an image file with the exact parameters??? Also, I'm sending you a quick message about something else.

Hi Winston; =============== I presume that a better practice would be to create an image file with the exact parameters??? =============== Yup.... the best thing is to create an image file that matches the size parameters in your html. In your case, if the image is actually smaller, you could just shrink that cell. As long as the two cells add up to the table width, that's fine. For example, I have the cells set at 500 and 300. The table is 800 pixels wide. Your image is actually 188 pixels wide, so you could just change the two cells to 612 and 188. : ) Linda

Hi Linda, Cool! I can do the graphic thing. I think! LOL On Fonts. I see that you use "px" for size. Does this have some advantage over "pt"???

Hi Winston; =============== On Fonts. I see that you use "px" for size. Does this have some advantage over "pt"??? =============== Ummm... the only advantage I know of is that I've tested 'px' in Firefox, IE 5.5 and IE 6.0. I haven't tested 'pt' in all of them so I don't know if it works in all three. lol But -- if you want to create a page that uses pt, I'd be happy to open it in all three browsers and see if it's consistent. If it is, then we can list it as a compatible setting, too. lol : ) Linda
