Re: What the bleep? Three kinds of people...

Hi: For Carol: Welcome Carol! I'm glad you found us. I think you'll like it here. : ) ========================================= I have been told by many people that I am a life long learner. I look at life as challenges that we are given to grow as a person. Our character also is created as we complete these challenges. ========================================= I say that, too, that I'm a lifelong student. You're so right about character. Our character is created as we learn and grow. And, as we grow, our challenges and problems change, too. and then we learn and grow more - and develop our character more along the way. For Cheri; I would agree with the part about the teacher learning the most. The more I learn, the more I can teach. Kind of neat the way it works. : ) =========================================== Second, I hope that expressing my gratitude doesn't equate to putting you on a pedestal, since you clearly don't want to be there. Fear of heights, perhaps? lol. =========================================== lol. At 5'3", a pedestal might help me be heard in a crowd. Actually, though, it's more that I like to be approachable. I don't ever want anyone to think I'm "above" them. More than anything, the more I learn, the more I realize how much there is that I haven't learned. What the Bleep really showed me THAT! What I know doesn't even compare to what I don't know in this universe. I went to Fred Alan Wolf's site after watching the movie. Man, it's hard to wrap the brain around Quantum Physics. lol It makes me feel humbled by comparison. : ) Linda

So many interesting comments! Its hard to know where or what to add. I do however believe that the answer to your question is that it is something that is "learned" versus something that we are born with. As they say, "we are what we are because of the decisions we've made". Which as I learn more and more every day, regardless of our status or state (for lack of better words) in life, we can change that status or state by simply changing the decisions we make.

Hi Linda, I haven't seen that movie but now I am inspired to do so. Strange. I find the title most uninspiring. I suppose we should never judge a movie by its title - same as we should never judge a book by its cover. But we all do, don't we? I think you are spot on with your categorization. Regarding mentors, experts, gurus... An expert is somebody who knows more and more and more about less and less and less. Think about that in terms of specialization. I guess the corollary to that would be that an ignoramus is somebody who knows less and less and less about more and more and more. Regards Gary Simpson PS: Winston - a new look? Did le-Bob inspire you?

The Movie or Docu-Movie as I like to call it. If you have not seen it,, then do so but do so with a very open mind. If you have never given any thoughts to Quantum Physics or Quantun Machanics or The Supernatural or God, you might be surpirised at what you will see and hear and hopefully learn. To those that have seen the movie get ready for, "What The Bleep - Down The Rabbit Hole" which is scheduled for release Feb. of this year. This original movie, will if nothing, make you think about everything you know and accept, or at least it should. I myself have had a long love for Quantum Physics, I won't claim to understand all of it but I do believe in it. Ich weib, dass ich nichts weib?

Please excuse my typo above; Machanics should be Mechanics. Linda keeps me in a dark corner in our office so I sometimes miss the correct keys.
