To try to understand the privacy issues with this kind of idea ( and because I have been up very early) I decided to do a bit of digging and went to Wikipedia first. What you are saying Mark makes very good sense and maybe in a way, why I did not come in and cheer. I do know that on some services such as safelists, one can "buy" or earn a " downline" ( people) but there has to be an optin for this kind of thing to occur. Is this something that people really want to get into? To be honest, I cant say this is something I would want. It is indeed work to develop a "list" and I guess it really depends on why you are here. If this is purely for business/marketing, I can see the allure, but for social, then not the best way to develop a relationship. I like the idea of having a "quick guide" if you will to help people navigate in a more seamless and easier way..makes perfect sense and will go far in helping new members ( and older ones..) find their way around edited There might be a way around the issue of "giving" people a list and that is to recommend people to new members. It is done on Twitter, LinkedIn and G+ and it's quite simple and useful as well. It is always based on a persons "interest" so for example...People you might be interested in ( common wording)..... just a thought
