My opinion is that a moderated forum is generally a promotion of one persons ideas or opinions on a subject and they are generally not looking for any one elses especially if it may be controversial. I tend to avoid them. Most of them are advertisements of the writer. Mary Beth

I guess I'm just a hard nosed, die hard believer in a discussion being a discussion, and advertisers get warned once and then deleted next time! I have a tough hide as you all know, but some do not. Some moderated forums are needed I agree, and of course I am a believer in FREE CHOICE! However I am also an advocate of "Let's not call it a Forum UNLESS it is a Forum" You see the definition of forum is a 'community discussion'. Let's call a spade a spade shall we? God that would be original! LOL :) But as I said above to each his own.

I feel that it is up to the forum owner if they want to moderate it. Howerever you still have a delete button even if the forum isn't moderated. If the forum is for an open discussion like this one then moderation should not be needed. We want open discussion even if it doesn't agree with our views. However the delete button is very handy for those who post one line to say I agree and then 20 lines to advertise their biz opps. That is spam and has no place in a discussion.

Hi Linda, I think it should be left up to the person posting the forum. As the one posting a reply to a forum, it does not matter to me if there is moderation or not. I will gladly post to either one. Thanks, Have a great day! Karen
