New Flash! BS Meter in Google ToolBar Kills AutoSurfs!

Hi Gary and everyone, Don't we wish. Google, Yahoo, somebody. All except for one little complications. One man's junk is another man's treasure. Too bad some whitewash the junk, perfume it, to make it look soo enticing to the inexperienced, gullible, and trusting.

Linda, I have no problem avoiding the first two type of traffic programs you mentioned but I seem to be spending too much time on the click me to get credit for free advertising. I think your third type mentioned would be AdLandPro and TrafficSwarm. At least the Traffic Exchange component. Is this correct? However, I do realize that AdLandPro offers much more than free clicking and I do use as many features as I can. Would you say that Pay-Per-Click is also of little value? What about the programs that allow buying keywords? I'm struggling with getting meaningfull visitors and I'm getting confused as to the approach I should take. I had the thought of creating a one page sites for each of my revenue generating afilliate program and purchase a bunch of credits from AdLandPro and TrafficSwarm. After reading your post I'm thinking the payback may not be possible.

Jack, Heather -- I believe Traffic Hoopla just rated Webbizinsider number one -- and that's my overall favorite traffic exchange as far as getting hits to a web site that result in at least some conversion -- I think I have somewhat over 700 downliners in that particular program -- they are a built in dolbe oppted downline for me on a weekly basis. I don't agree with very much of what Linda and some others have said about the utility traffic exchanges, paid autosurfs, in particular. I just checked on one of my affiliate accounts -- called Netprolinks -- that I started advertising on the paid autosurfs a few weeks ago, and out of slightly less than 3200 page views, there were seven signups at the free level and one paid upgrade. Mind you, this is all from the paid autosurfs that the "ethical high-horse" has attempted to trample underfoot. Digressing for a moment to the legal discussion -- At the federal level, they don't want to talk to individuals, they steer you back to the state attorney general. So, I am in the process of identifying and retaining a specialized Internet lawyer here in NC to review my programs from a legal perspective. I'll be dropping or retaining my online programs based on that advice -- it's the reasonable -- and ethical thing to do. On the topic of pyramids -- I checked out NC statute, since that's where i live, and from what i can see, pyramids are illegal in this state if the participant is paying for the privilege of recruiting and then selling products to downliners. Paid autosurfs don't attempt to do that as far as I can see. So I just don't see a problem here in NC. Back now to the utility of traffic exchanges. I don't mean to imply that traffic exchanges (of any kind) ought to be a webmaster's only marketing tool -- clearly, they are just one. My own experience is that I achieve about the smae results with traffic exchanges or double optin safelists. I'll say this -- although I don't agree with Linda on very much of what she has to say about traffic exchanges or paid autosurfs, I checked out her web site and self-reported bonafides (I have no reason to doubt them), and if I were looking for competent help to build and market a web site, along traditional lines, I would consider her in the top level of the web marketing gurus here at ALP -- the reason i say that is because I perceive that she has some real marketing experience, beyond the typical Internet "stick", which taught her to recognize, craft and effectively market meaningful achievements -- just go look at all the national level magazines portrayed on her web site that some of her clients have apparently showed up in -- very impressive. So Linda, in that sphere i certainly respect your knowledge, skills and abilities a great deal. However, getting back to the arena that this thread pertains to, I don't think it ought to fall under your purview as an ALP Advisor to comment on, because i don't think you are qualified to talk about traffic exchanges or paid autosurfs in a meaningful, responsible way -- since you're not a current or historical user of that marketing modality, how much of a credible nature could you possibly have to offer? Other than a few good links you provided, the overall gist of your comments has been disparaging and damaging to many. Further, having looked at your web sites, Linda (and also Gary and Peter), I now understand why you are so antagonistically disposed toward any marketing approach you are not specialized in or promoting -- for those that are savvy enough not to take things at face value, your rejection of all that you don't embrace gives you all the appearance in the world of having a significant conflict of interest viz-a-viz traffic exchanges of any kind. You have not hesitated to cast aspersions of criminality toward 12dailypro, paid autosurfs and anyone and everyone that has ever had anything to do with them -- this is potentially in the arena of character defamation -- just my opinion based on personal research. Accordingly, I believe that the ethical thing for you to do is to delete this thread entirely.

Hi Greer: Given the length of your post, I won't copy the entire content, but selected parts. ========================================== I don't agree with very much of what Linda and some others have said about the utility traffic exchanges, paid autosurfs, in particular. I just checked on one of my affiliate accounts -- called Netprolinks -- that I started advertising on the paid autosurfs a few weeks ago, and out of slightly less than 3200 page views, there were seven signups at the free level and one paid upgrade. ========================================== I suspect that you might actually be agreeing with me without realizing it. You see, an "auto" surf is a piece of software that sends hits to a server without a live person being in front of the computer. Software doesn't sign up for anything. Thus, there must be "live people" using the traffic exchange you refer to - which (if you read my descriptions to Lingo) I have repeatedly said "can" bring signups and is preferable to software "auto" surfing programs. I suspect you are incorrectly using the word "auto" - that you have had human visitors, not software hits, and that you are actually agreeing with me that human visitors are preferable, as they "can" indeed sign up. : ) =========================================== I don't think it ought to fall under your purview as an ALP Advisor to comment on, because i don't think you are qualified to talk about traffic exchanges or paid autosurfs in a meaningful, responsible way -- since you're not a current or historical user of that marketing modality =========================================== I am an ALP advisor in regard to making profit online. Right now I am running several campaigns for several clients that generate $10K - $60K per month for the respective clients. I have been doing what I do for 10 years. I think that qualifies me quite nicely. In regard to the fact that I don't use autosurfs (ie; correctly defined, the software hits) - I defer to my past example. Is a doctor not qualified to deliver a child because HE has not been pregnant? I don't use that which doesn't work well enough to justify the time expenditure. I have repeatedly invited people to let me know if they're getting great results. I am still waiting. =========================================== ...your rejection of all that you don't embrace gives you all the appearance in the world of having a significant conflict of interest =========================================== You will need to explain this to me, as it makes no sense to me. Gary sells motivational books. Peter and I sell website design. How is that a conflict of interest in saying autosurfs suck for getting traffic? Sorry, but you lost me there. =========================================== You have not hesitated to cast aspersions of criminality toward 12dailypro, paid autosurfs and anyone and everyone that has ever had anything to do with them -- this is potentially in the arena of character defamation -- just my opinion based on personal research. =========================================== Well, I'm certainly glad you said that it's your opinion. You are certainly entitled to that. No one here has cast any aspersions of criminality. And character defamation? Nope. We did have one member do that three times, but I deleted those. I don't allow personal attacks here. What I have done repeatedly is posted the USA government definition of a pyramid and ask people to judge for themselves. What I have also done is asked people who *are* involved to please tell the rest of us where the money comes from that is paid to members. No one has answered that yet, including you. What I have also done is explained to you, repeatedly, that the objective here is to find information. Greer, if you've contacted a lawyer to make sure everything you are involved in is legal, that's wonderful. I wish all people would do some type of due diligence. It would save a LOT of innocent followers a lot of money. =========================================== Accordingly, I believe that the ethical thing for you to do is to delete this thread entirely. =========================================== Ethically? The definition of ethics is: "A set of principles of right conduct. " I believe that the "right" conduct as an ALP advisor is to help people make informed decisons. That's what this thread is attempting to do. We had a similar situation in the Paypal Randomizer thread. John finally wrote to paypal. It turned out we were right, so John changed his payment processor and saved 106 peoples' paypal accounts. No matter what you choose to read into anything, I am simply trying to help people make informed decisions. You can protest that, or you can help with it. Your call. Since you're having a lawyer look at all the programs you're in, you can come back and tell us what he says. Again... your call. : ) Linda P.S. Thanks for the kudos on my work. Incidentally, my clients haven't "apparently" appeared in National Level magazines. They HAVE appeared in. Many of them show the scans. *wink*
