Thanks, Pat, are they all fishes?

I can add to the fist picture Russian saying "Neither fish nor fowl " - I don't know, if English speaking are using such expression.

Once more Russian Saying about fishes:

"When there is no fishes, a cancer is a fish too"

English analog of this expression is "Half a loaf is better than no bread"

здрасте - кот, раки

Hi Lydia!

The English had never the spirit or the ability to teach us this kind of nice proverbs. I presume in haste you wrote English instead of Chinese.

«Give me a fish, and I will eat for today. Teach me how to fish, and
I will eat for the rest of my life» - English proverb

IT IS A CHINESE PROVERB

Kindly Regards
Georgios

Hello Lydia,

How about a humourous poem of my first time of fly fishing

FISHING

I like to go fishing, fishing is free
I like to stand in the river way over my knees
I like it outside in the 'great outdoors'
Because fresh air is good, it opens the pores!

It does not matter a great deal to me, if I do not catch any fish
It is so peaceful and quiet, I am in absolute bliss
The water at present is cold and swift
with waders on, my feet are heavy to shift

Especially trying to walk cross-country
in these cumbersome thingamiggies
I am not at all impressed with
Oregon, Lane County wild blackberries

Even though I got extremely puffed and quite tired
walking overland in full waders is not at all mild
I had to swap over to 'Thigh Highs'
Oh the freedom - it brought back lots of smiles

I had a good day out on my second day of fishing
I did not catch anything not even a nibble
But had to leave half an hour early
Because my fishing partner fell in and he is not burly

I slept well that night, in fact I was out like a light
Dreaming dreams I cannot remember
I am getting fitter and fitter each day ready
for the day when I go Hunting for the first time!

Hi Georgios! Nice to see you here.

Maybe, Chinese, I will not to argue with You. I don't know Russian analog of it. It went to Russia from England, as far I know. Maybe I am wrong. But I don't know Chinese at all yet and learning English to communicate with You, my dear.

Are You going to study Chinese? It's time to learn Chinese!

China is the great country and meanwhile only China has no financial crisis and even increases the income at this time

And now - Russian saying: "Ловись рыбка, большая и маленькая" - "Be caught a fish, greater and small" - in direct translation to English

But from You my dear Greek brother I wait  sayings and proverbs on the set theme - about fishes - and about sheeps - in a following theme

Hugs, Lydia
