Thank You, Sara!
It is analogue of Russian expression
"Как с гуся вода" - "Like water off a duck's back"
but Russians saying about geese
The phraseological unit "Like water off a duck's back" is a part of an ancient spell which said the sorcerer over the patient or careful parents, bathing the children: "From a goose water, and from our boy (girl) – leanness (illness)." People ingenuously believed that thus illness will descend as completely, like water off a duck's back. It is known that at geese as, however, and at other waterfowls - ducks, feathers are covered by fat greasing. Therefore water also does not moisten their feathers, rolling down drops that you may not tell about a hen.
Russians also speak "Выйти сухим из воды" - literal translation: "To come dry off the water" -"To come off clear"- English saying, is means, to leave an unpleasant situation without consequences
Good luck! Lydia
