There you are! Dearest Sara, just to let you know

A N D

ABOUT BEATING AROUND THE BUSH?

I am pleased with all beating around the topic :) .

Situations when we use to beat around the bush are different from poster to poster and I enjoy reading them very much.

Sara, thanks for the support. Please, take care and be aware that Adland is not Sunny and joyful place when you are absent. Even for a day or two.

HUGS, LOVE, BLESSINGS!

Luka

Good morning dear Luka,

Oh, I should open my messages more often. Sorry but only today I saw your message.

What a topic! You really have great ideas.

Beating around the bush! I think it's like saying great or little lies in order not to tell the truth, isn't it? I'm sure everyone has done this at least once in his/her life. But some are professionals to this. It depends on their job (politicians, doctors, salesmen etc.), or on which they have to deal with. Parents use this way to avoid disappointing their kids, teachers to follow the "truths"of the books that they are obliged to use in school (while the truth may be completely different) and so on.

I enjoyed reading all posts here.

Enjoy your Sunday,

Hugs,

Dimitra

LOL DIMI!!!!

No one has mentioned a school, but thinking once-twice and more about it ... I AM READY TO SAY THAT A SCHOOL MAY BE CONSIDERED AS THE BIGGEST BUSH! (Doctors, lawyers, politicians were educated at the schools :) )

Maybe it`s more proper to think about beating around the bush as off hypocrisy, rather than as off lies.

I found those funny graphics:

L O L !

If I were born to vote in USA ......... :)

ALSO THIS ONE :

OR

So Dimi, you didn`t come late.

SCHOOL AND FASHION ... two new things to beat around :) .

Thank you my friend!

Have a great Sunday!

Love you,

Luka

Hey JIYKA,

What a topic!  After reading many of the answers and having a laugh of familiarity, I can only say that there must be a lot of it that goes around this world.  LOL!!!

I have to admit that not everyone can do this method of skirting the subject, but some are very good at it indeed.

From my understanding, "beat around the bush" was an old method of hunting.  The hunter would send helpers into the bush and they would make noise and beat on the bushes to scare any hunted game towards the hunters.  An indirect way of hunting and thus an indirect way of discussion too.  LOL!!

My take on "why" someone would "beat around the bush" a.k.a. "skirt the issues" is that, they simply are trying to flush out an answer without asking the question.  Make sense?

In hopes that this wasn't a beat around the bush response,

Always buddy hugs,

Joe

Joe,

Before I finished one funny post - reply on yours,

I WENT FOR THE LINK OF FORREST GUMP`S STORY

AND WHEN I WAS BACK ... IT DISAPPEARED!!!!

I AM SO SAD NOW.

You inspired me to write something very funny, and now ... I will switch my comp off, and write it again tomorrow.

IT WAS VERY BUSY DAY AT SCHOOL AND I FEEL TIRED.

Л У К А appreciates your attempt to slaughter the Cyrillic this time :) ...

Isn`t it out of common sense to learn 2 Alphabets of your own language at once, and 4 different Alphabets of foreign language?

Joe, I`ll BBT.

(On one of those two days a week)

HUGS BUDDY!

Luka
