Hi Angela,

Thank you for the turkey pot pie recipe. I will try it with chicken, too, as I really like pot pie.

I signed up for the free ecookbook.

Hi Eva,

It is so nice to see you. Yes, many great chefs are men, so we invite men to share their recipes, too.

Hi Donna,

I have a great chocolate icing recipe.  short and easy

Fudge Frosting

1 cup of sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup cocoa

Mix together and bring to boil for 5 minutes, test in cold water to see if it forms a soft ball
Beat unil it has thickens and spread on cake.

Note.  If you doesn't get cooked enough, you can always go back and cook it some more it will not hurt it.

Hi, Donna,

Thanks for inviting  me to post in your recipe forum!  I love recipes, cook books, and I love to cook!

I always  had trouble making pecan pie, and in the  South, every lady should know how to make pecan pie.  Mine always was runny and I never could get it to the proper consistency.  Welllllll........I found a new recipe in our newspaper, tried it, and couldn't believe how perfect it came  out.  Here it is:

Pecan Pie

1 unbaked pie crust

3 whole eggs

1 cup white sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 heaping Tbsp. flour

3/4 stick butter or oleo (melted)

1 tsp. vanilla

1 cup pecans (chopped)

Beat the eggs.  Add ingredients in the order that they are listed.  Pour into unbaked pie crust.  Bake at 350 deg. for 1 hour.

Just that simple - - and you'll notice it DOES NOT contact syrup, which is, seemingly, always in a pecan pie recipe!

Let me know how you like it when you make it, OK?

Thanks again, and have a great day!!

Betty

Hello Myrna,

Your chocolate icing recipe sounds yummy. I am going to try it next weekend when my grandkids help me cook. They are 12 (boy) and 13 (girl) and I am teaching them how to cook and bake. I haven't made home-made icing in a long time. This ones sounds easy enough for me to try! :)
