Dear Thomas:

Your article was and is very thought provoking.  I have to admit, I was a little concerned when I first read it as it seemed one sided.  For that I apologize.  I had another cup of coffee and reread it.

The one thing I can say is that you speak your mind...yea!

I guess for me, I just don't separate or catagorize who my different friends are.  In truth I have been so lucky to meet those few who are just themselves.  We all have our ways of looking at things...ain't that the truth.

I was taught many years ago that if you can count on your hand your true friends, who accept you for who or even what you are then you are indeed rich beyond your dreams.

My friends are precious...they are what help me get through my days and my long nights...and I hope that I have learned from them...and give back...one hundred fold to the best of my ability.

I will add one last thought...my true friends have no issue...um...kicking me in the butt...when i am wrong....can get mighty sore at times...yep... :-)

Peace and Light to You my dear friend

Diane

Thank you Thomas!  This is a wonderful thought provoking topic.  I would have expected it to be uplifting, but find a sense of sadness instead.

Sometimes Friendships are difficult.  As Kathleen says, they need nurturing.  A really true Friendship can be difficult to find too, however I believe when we open our hearts to the idea it becomes easier.

Your own Best Friend is and always will be yourself.  Treat yourself with love and respect ... in turn treat others the same way.

There is nothing like an afternoon or evening of laughter shared with good Friends.  I've had times like that and wouldn't trade them for all the gold in the world.

Sincerely,

Terry

Thank you Terry. My friend will always be Jesus, no matter where i go hes there never to leave unless i leave first.  For some it takes sometime to understand the concepts of a good friendship is like and how to develope one. Thank you for your comments , a friend also leaves a good impression on the other, always be your brothers keeper and or sisters keeper. Enjoy your day Terry. God_bless you

Hi Thomas,

Great post as always my friend ,

I would have to recall my teachings growing up that one’s closest friends should be your enemies . As the saying goes "keep your friends close and your enemies closer"

I have no enemies for this reason "Kill them with kindness" is another great expression. Keep them close, disarm them with the way you treat them so well, and they will soon lose all power to hurt you. Above all, never trust them!

The expression "keep your friends close and your enemies closer" in essence means to focus on self-preservation. If you don't open yourself up to enemies, they can't hurt you. Trust your friends, confide in them, know they care about you. But be even more friendly to your enemies . Gods speed :-) Lee
