Re: Four types of people and how to work with them

Hi John,

I love all of Neil's forums.  I had to giggle when I ready your post.  I think I am in an expressive mode today.  I think there might be a few products that cater to all  - doesn't everyone love ice cream - or is it just me? (ok - that was silly so lol)

In my many years, I have yet to find an environment where EVERYONE - totally and completely were on the exact same plain.  I have on several occasions been involved in leadership training that encompassed a wide variety of people from many different walks of life and from several areas of the world.  At the very end of a very intensive 30 hours of training in 2-1/2 days it was quite exhilarating to have the sense that everyone in the room was totally and completely united and on the same level and in complete harmony.  At that moment, there was very little that could have broken the spell.  Once the training ended, and we all gathered on the bus for a 90 mile ride to the airport, that spell started almost immediately ti dissapate.

What was wierd was that everyone in the bus I sensed recognized that and some of the more boisterous individuals did what they could to pull it back.  What happened?  Life happened.  People started to remember that their mother, father, wife, son, or daughter needed a phone call and the cell phones were working again and LIFE HAPPENED. The distractions, the worries that had been temporarily forgotten, the pressing obligations of life started crawling back in.

I remember it now like it was yesterday and it was 2 years ago last weekend.  I remember the calm I felt as I watched this all play out all the way to the airport where everyone went their separate ways.  It has baffled me a few times since when I stop to ponder on it.  How can a group of 26 people be 100% connected one minute and then NOT.

Guess I will wait to see what our friend Neil can add to this.  I already know, he will have SOMETHING TO SAY!!

Have a terrifc day and weekend!

Judy,

Thank you for popping up this morning or I might have never found this forum.  Wow!  There is much to learn here.  This is what I love to study... the different types of people... I am in the "why" mode on this subject.  "Why" do people do what they do?

I shall have to come back with time to carefully look under each stone.  There are many!!!!!

Thank you Neil and Judy!!!

Great to see you drop in!

re: "theory vs fact" - I assure you the theory is fact...LOL ! I've studied people using this system for years. Nine years selling Real Estate gave me a lot of opportunity to use this system and I assure you it is real and it works. People generally are dominant in one of the four traits with characteristics of one or two more. Using the chart- you will find people never are all four, although they may have brief moments where they "appear" to be all four. Inner motivation is the key to seek out!

Also people never have diagnally opposed triats.... ie Analytical people wont be expressive and drivers wont be amiable....

The funny thing is - they "think they are both"..... example - an amiable person may think they are a driver because they work hard to get things done... but by close examination you will find the "reason" they get things done is because of their loyalty to famaily or their boss as example... where as the driver gets things done for the sake of getting things done.

Analytical people LOVE to think and problem solve... and since thay are enjoying it, they think they are expressive because of that - yet upon examination on a deeper level the expresive do things for attention and fun while the analyser does things for the thinking.

re: script a product - this is the reason for understanding people. Since we are ALL different - when sharing your product you DO change the way you share the info so that it appeals to the trait that you isolate in your prospect. Re-read "building Rapport" part of this main thread.

I hope you study this and find ways to make it work for you in your business.

Great story re: your experience with the class and the bus ride.

My thoughts on this "happening" are from a deeper "mystical" point of view. When the class was all "in tune" with the class content.... they were "in tune" all at the same moment. "When two or more minds are gathered together in one thought.... the power is magnified to the exponetial number of the participants"

What I mean is - if there were 10 people in the class and all were "in tune" with the class content.... the power of the content was lifted to the power of ten.

The mind is a powerful thing!

Science has proven we send brain signals out (EEG machines work) - but science has not yet proved we can recieve this signal as well as send it.

The calm you felt as you watched the event unfold as "life happened" is in my opinion "Peace Profound" .... LOVE!

You had all experinced an awakening.... "together". Love bound you to each other and the learning experienced was shared "together". .... yet life goes on!

If you could arrange a date and time of day when EVERYONE that was at the seminar sat in quiet silence and "ALL" of you thought about the class and the time together.... the combined thoughts would join you all again... and you would have a "sence" of connection all over again. (two or more gathered together with the same thought the power is magnified exonentially)

All the particapants of the class will always maintain their character traits as the four types of people spell out..... the experience wont change their actual character trait.... they will still make their choices and actions based on the inner motivation of the character type.....

We can connect on a spiritual level, an intelectual level... and also using NLP (auditory, kenestsic, visual).

Judy - again you've added what could be a complete thread on its own.- Once I upgrade to Adlander and have three forums - I already plan that one of my forums will follow the mystical (spiritual) side of life.....

This forum I dedicate mainly to business tips.... although the spiritual/mystical side of life flows through ALL of life Judy, it makes your comment a valuable twist to this thread on the "four types of people."

Does my comments make any sence to you Judy?

Neil
