Marty, I'm so happy you didn't sink too deep.  When I knew medication was no longer an option for me, I gave myself permission to go to bed, to stay there for weeks at a time if necessary.

That may sound strange, but knowing I can because I have permission allows for the FREEDOM to choose.  I haven't had to do that. 

Like you, some days feel like you'll never see the light again, but the darkness doesn't last. 

You must acknowledge the feelings.  To ignore them is to invite troubled times.

Hello Everyone,

Its been a while since I visited this thread and I hope everyone is well.  Here's something to think about.  I just wrote it and thought I would share it here.

For so many years, I was handicapped and held hostage by my emotions.   

Depression is an ugly illness and I understand it has physiological components to it, but I strongly believe the underlying problems are compounded by not understanding ones self and the time for understanding is before a person sinks so low it is difficult to climb out.
