I do look at the subject lines at least to check out who it's from and what it's about. I tend to check out anything that isn't blatant spam that comes from a new person or person I don't really know as well as forums from people who usually have something interesting to say. 

I mostly delete anything that is announced in all caps as well as the blatant spam, repeated messages and business offers I know I'm not interested in.

You are right, though. Some people do get deleted a lot quicker than others based on what they've sent out before.

It'll be interesting to see what others have to say about this.

Hi Linda, THere sre some emails I check from people who have something particular to say or those who I respect. There are some I delete straight away when I see who is sending! Bless you. Las R

Good question...

I do not read them all.  And sometimes it seems there are more than the 476 you mention. 

I do not read messages that contain spelling errors.....such as "Your Invited" instead of "You're Invited"  or "Don't Loose" instead of "Don't Lose",  "Congradulations", instead of "Congratulations".   Just my pet peeves...........

Hi Linda, I will be brutally honest... no, I don't read them all. Like you, I scan and dump. As a matter of fact, if I get too far behind, I have been known to dump my whole mailbox, with the knowledge that anyone who has anything truly important to reach me about will try again, if I don't reply. Does it bother my conscience? Not a bit. Most of the stuff that comes in my mailbox is either blatant advertising or advertising wrapped up in the guise of a badly written forum or worse, a forum thread created by copying and pasting ad copy from some parent site that I've already seen 10,000 times in my email (ok... maybe that's a very slight exaggeration...) BTW, unless I happen to do one of my "WAY behind-rare-dumps," I always open mail from you. I know it's going to be worth reading!! God bless, Dave
