Hello Ana Maria, Venerina, Tell you this: Once I want to see how this people act. What did I find one of the persons that I had to take contact with was a high possitioned person in City Bank. Laws in Netherlands are very simplified. Much spamming is coming from there. It is very easy to say NIGERIA SPAM. Why Nigeria, because they have a strange reguime and it is easy to manipulate there. What about EU lottery. Sometimes I play cats and dogs with them. See wha I did to them. I got a spam letter from EURO-LOTTERY UK. "YOU WON 1.000.000 Euro". My return post told them that I never play Lotto. I could not be the winner. It is a gift from me to your pool. Their return: You have to pay 100 Euro to make the transaction to our pool. My second post. Thank you I jyust won the Greek State Lotto. Thats enough for me. Keep the money I don't want them. That was a parenthesis. Every time you have to pay. No money will come ever. My ordinary email blocks all this spams, but in several communities where I am member it is not possible to avoid them. Best Regards Georgios

Hello again,

That is astonishing for me!

Though, SCAMS and SPAMS are not the same, even if they are both anoying.

But SCAM has the posibility to harm/damage too! (or does it SPAMS too?)

Than, a Bank needs to have credibility! How can I trust a Bank, if an employee, could do what its said in the SCAM mail! (even if nothing is true)
Or am I too rigurouse here?! If something like that is posible/even if it were only for a mail story/ what can we trust in for (almost) sure?

Looks I need some more "fraudulent" education! LOL

Georgios,

You are absolutely right .... they actually do collect email addresses that way in order to scam more people ...

You've just reminded me of another one ....

A letter from Microsoft ... that they will pay you x amount of money per email referred.  It's a scam ... they do not pay you ... Microsoft have all your info when a program is registered.  These are just scammers trying to collect data and sensitive information ... chances are that they will sell your email address for a profit ..

Thank you for jogging my memory on that one

Take care my dear friend

Warm Hugs

Hello Anamaria

Thank you for coming by. It's not just ABN AMRO, I get the same scam emails from Barclays, Lloyds TSB, Halifax and others. I will see if I can find one to post so that everyone is made aware ....

It can't be proven whether it is an employee or just scammers/hackers using the logo types and detailed info.  The only thing would be to report it to the bank and let them hand it over to their tech department.

With so much technology around ... it is very easy to fake letterheads, logos etc etc .... but you are right we need to be vigilant ....

Take care and have a great week.

Georgios and Anamaria

Goergios is so right ... I mentioned in a previous post that it is not just the Nigerians who are at it.  There are lotteries out of US, Canada, France, Spain and Holland to name but a few ....

Like I said ... instead of emplyees ...There might be plagarism going on as well as the whole scam/spam thing .... Posted that a little earlier ...

Sorry I am so late checking in to the forum this evening.  I have been left a little behind but Ken and I had to get the newsletter finished .... But my dear friend Georgios has been an exceptionally wonderful host... Thank you Georgios .... Big hug to you

Good night and sweet dreams to all, it's bed time for me.

God Bless

Venerina
