Hi Linda :) yeah a very interesting topic, unfortunately we all get ads in emails, I dont let if bother me too much, and somethings I reply, wishing them well in their biz, the ones that amuse me are the ones that send friend invites and have nothing but an ad. Its a bad thing but I suppose some people just dont know any better, its very rude! Take care!! :)

Sometimes reverse marketing is an option, but generally I delete because of time. I agree that most of the people inviting us to be friends with an ad probably don't understand it is spam. I have considered leaving Adland because of all the emails that need to be sorted each day, but then I would miss you and some of the others that work so hard to make this a special place. Have a great day! Julie

Hi Linda C, YES! Exactly. When someone I know - or even someone I don't know - starts a personal message with.. Hi Linda, I noticed your profile and I see that you are with xyz company ...or I saw your post on a forum and I see that you are interested in blah blah... so I thought you might like to know about a service I found that seems to be similar to what you do. And THEN tell me about it - briefly - without hype - and invite me to take a look for myself. That's what you describe as a "real" letter from a "real" friend. I actually have received many of those type messages - and I read them and usually respond to say yes or no - because they come from someone I have at least seen here before - and they took the time to introduce themselves and let me know that they at least know who I am and what I do. Thanks for your feedback! :)

Hey ya'll, Thanks for all your responses. Some very good points made! I too sometimes reply to an ad, especially if it is a new member, just to let them know that I am not interested in receiving ads and suggest that what they are doing may actually be against policy - and I always include a suggestion for a better way to network... ... which is of course getting to know people first. I got a private message yesterday from someone who joined Adlandpro yesterday, had no profile, and sent me a message from another country about having millions of dollars they had inherited and needed me to put in my bank account... You have seen those I know in your email. I did write to Michael about that one and he said it IS against policy and he said he will delete the account. I don't usually like to report anyone because I realize there is a learning curve and we all have to learn on our own terms... unless we are willing to listen to someone with a bit more experience. In the end we are all perfect human beings and our actions do not reflect who we are - just sometimes errors in judgment or lack of knowledge. All is well in my world!
