Hi Linda, I think most people just don't know that pm is not for ads. I get a bunch that way and though new invites to be a friend. Many people here thinks adland is the magic bullet. It is not. Where I get sales is thought advertising not in pm, but out on ad sites,on safe lists, auto and manual surf sites. And I will go on to say most people do not know what to advertise or how to advertise when they do advertise in the right places. I don't mine when someone here write me and ask me to look at something for them. If they have not joined themselfs yet. This means they are not trying to sign me up, they are asking my advice. They want me to look at a comp plan to see if it is workable before they spend money. I will have a look at it and give them feed back. Adland is a great place to get to know people. But to be honest here( no offence ment) it is not the place to sell products and services. The time and if you a paid member (money)vs the conversion rate is really low.So Low infact I don't even waste my time advertising here except in my own forum. I once went to a bible conferance at ORU in Tulsa Ok. There was 10,000 people from all over the world there. At the end of the three days I had been Given 900 business card from evangelist looking for a place to preach. I was not even a pastor, I could not help them. Well adland is the same way. We all home business people. We all are selling products, services. So we are all passing cards out to people that have cards to pass out them self. If you selling the product or service before your selling your self you will never make any serious money in your home business. Sorry but what most companies only makes them a lot of money not you! Why? because if you join a business and get 2 people the national average. You will finally quit and go try another company.The first company made money on you and your two. We the have 100-to 1000 people working to get their 2 in they don't care if you don't make any money. They are making plenty. So if you quit it is no big deal to them. Until we all learn this we we will be bomb-barded with spam pm and spam email. That is why I don't teach people to market like most companies do. If it has not worked in the past it will not work now. Believe me SPAM does not make sales or friends. Neither does wrong advertising and marketing pratices. Hope it helps! Johnny

Hello Linda, When I am in a hurry I do delete ads, I tend to join with a program with someone I already know. Quite a few of them when they do this I tell them I did not appreciate it and I am sure my friends would not either. I offer my assistance with adlandpro as I do think perhaps they do not understand the ethics of doing this. Just my opinion, I know is very boring & does not hold my interest at all. Lisa lomas

Hi Linda, In my opinion it is downright rude to approach a person in this way. When I receive ads through the personal message system I just delete them straight away. What surprises me most is that people actually believe this kind of marketing works. I have often been tempted to reply to their message with my own ad (to see how they like it) but then that would only be sinking to their level. Mairead

hi linda i agree with you 100%. i hate it when people send me pm and they are full of ads i just delete them. its wasting there time sending them and its wasting my time. there should be a stop put to this

Here, here, Linda. Emailing to adlanders is our form of communicating between us not a place to send ads. It shows a bit of no class. I can see if someone had requested it. Or perhaps it's a reflex action that a person is use to. Or maybe they are too shy or too lazy to make a forum and invite individuals. Mind you this is only hypothetical and I neither support nor defend or do any of these things. I believe a 'Adland Ettiquette' should be enacted and that is the first thing that is placed upon it. Just an opinion.
