Re: What turns you off enough to make you leave a website?

Hi Gary, Wow, as I read your message, I was thinking maybe you want to go back and read what you wrote. I believe that we attract to us what we think about and talk about. For example, those who speak of being healthy most are usually most healthy. In contrast, those who speak most of illness usually experience the most illness. By the same token, if I expect to find junk websites and that is all I expect to find, guess what I'm going to find? Respectfully, food for thought!

Hi Linda; ======================================== I really think it is important to introduce ourSELVES and let people get to know US before we start telling them what we have to sell. And... I think it is most important to tell them how we can help them rather than how great our product or service is. If we can capture someone's attention and gain their trust - and then tell them how we can help them... I think we have a new friend and customer. You think? ======================================== I agree completely... especially the part I bolded. It's what I've taught for years and years. If each of us closed our eyes for a minute and looked inside to say "how do I make buying decisions? who do I listen to? how do I decide who to trust? who do I take advice from?" we'd get much insight into how our customers and visitors and fellow forumites think. We all share one thing. We're human. : ) Linda

Hey Linda, Exactly! All we need to do is think about what WE are looking for. We are projecting our beliefs anyway. YES!

Hello Linda (Miller) You said: ================= "Wow, as I read your message, I was thinking maybe you want to go back and read what you wrote." ================= Why? I stand by what I said. There IS far too much filthy PORN and there IS far too much JUNK. That is a fact. Anybody can choose to overlook a fact. The number of quality sites on the web is a relatively small percentage. Sure, if you go looking for junk you will find it. But even if you go searching for something wholesome and informational you still have to get through the junk. That is the point I was making. To suggest or infer that I am only finding junk websites because I am subconsciously expecting such a thing would be erroneous. If you said that I am often disappointed and disgusted by what people put on the net for others to view THEN you would be correct. Gary

Hi Linda M, -------------------------------------------- I believe that we attract to us what we think about and talk about. -------------------------------------------- To some degree I can agree with that. -------------------------------------------- All we need to do is think about what WE are looking for. -------------------------------------------- This puts things into a little different context though. The reason I say that is because most people do not care what "we" are looking for. They care about what "they" are looking for. Now, I think, if you can learn to merge those thoughts to the point where you can "determine what you want" and how to give others "what they want" in order to get "what you want" then you have a winning combination. :-)
