I got this from Lola- the prayers are working Hi Larry, I was thrilled today when my son openned his eyes and started searching for me. He did this several times today. While they were doing labwork on him, they had to turn on the overhead light and he openned his eyes. When I asked if he was wondering what the heck was going on, he nodded. I mentioned only that he was hit by a car. He kept trying to get up, and reached for me with his right arm (the left is still strapped down to avoid pulling anything loose.) And he bowed his body, pushing up on his legs. However, when the doctor who did the CT Scan came in later in the evening, she said he had pooled blood in the left part of his brain, and they fear he may have had a minor stroke, which would cause him to no be able to move his right side. Now, either she is mistaken, or God is answering prayers, because he actually lifted his right arm over his body toward me, and moved the toes on both feet. Both eyes were responding and he was looking straight at me. I feel she was wrong, but I don't want to be presumptuous and say so. After they put his jawbones back together (with plates and pins) they will be wiring his jaws so they can't move for some time, until they heal. Only problem is, they will have to remove what few teeth survived the accident to get to the bone. Also, his upper jaw (the growth plate) needs to move to heal...with it wired, they can't move. Catch 22! Anyway, when I left a few minutes ago, to let him rest, he openned his eyes, smiled then grabbed my hand so I wouldn't leave. I told him goodnight, and he calmed and hopefully went to sleep. He has a big day tomorrow, so I am going to get some rest while he rests. Thanks for the prayers, and keep 'em coming..They seem to work. Your friend, Lola PS: he has better nurses on tonight. They seem to care about what they do.
