The trio is completed with this masterpiece that while entirely different from the first in the series - in fact, a lake and not a forest and a watercolor on paper and not an oil on canvas - is nonetheless especially lyrical too. Plus like the second masterpiece, it was painted during Savrasov's tour of Switzerland.

Miguel,

I understand your question about Turner.

I can definitely see the Constable influence.

Lyrical is so very descriptive of these beauties.

Roger and friends, here is yet another Savrasov masterpiece from his tour of Switzerland that I had missed
so far. So impressive indeed and in effect, you can perceive in it Calame's influence.

One or two years before he painted his Swiss form, we see Savrasov producing highly contrasting works like these two beautiful masterpieces of 1859 and aproximately 1860.

Back to Savrasov's tour of Switzerland, here is a portrait of a lake in the mountains w
here light and beauty play the main roles. He painted it in 1866 but from the sight of it, even now we can imagine the effect it had in his spirit.
