Painting the below master work, The Meadow of San Isidro on his Feast Day, must have been such a challenging task... even to Goya. According to him, he had some trouble with the composition of this magnificent work. And in effect, its complexity can be seen with only one look.

Francisco de Goya - The Meadow of San Isidro on his Feast Day
(oil on canvas, 1788)

Miguel,

What extraordinary works of art.

I go from loving his wonderful and complex works to being concerned about almost caricature like faces.

In these works you have brought us all aspects of his work are evident. From the detailed to the economy of brush strokes in the murals.

It is obvious why Goya's work is so highly regarded yet some of his work doesn't appeal to me.

This is what makes art so personal and a basis for discussion.

I know that my likes in painting are VERY varied as is my taste in music. It makes for an exciting life.

Roger

I highly appreciate your comments, Roger. They are sobering whenever a sober note is in order and inspiring where a substantial amount of inspiration is required, but they are always enlightening.
As usual, though in a varying degree, I share your views. Also, not all of Goya's works do I like, but I am willing to show even those I don't quite like so as to be fair with everyone's likes.

Though in Spanish, the below video, somehow presenting Goya's
The Medow of San Isidro in an entirely new light, is so extraordinary that I could not resist posting it. I hope you enjoy it.

I thought that this video was genius.

It puts things into perspective.

Thank you Miguel.
