There are also 2 blood test that are very good for determining ones health.

1. Homocystine test. 7.0 +/- .2 is the upper limit for normal. Don't ask me the units. I never remember them. lol A result of 10.0 means a person is 33% more likely to have a heart attack than at 7. From there up, the likely hood goes up exponentially.

2. PLAC test. One can Google it to find out more. It measures the same thing as the Homocystine test for heart disease, but also includes ones susceptibility to stroke.

Another tip is to use a strong magnet on the water pipe coming into the home. It helps reduce the Total Dissolved Solids by allowing them to pass on through the system, rather than cling together and stick and build up. Similar to good quality nutritional products do for plac in our blood vessels.

Hope this helps somebody.

Home remedies for dark circle!!

Drink at least ten glasses of water everyday.

Eight hours of sleep is a must for all of us, especially for people having dark circles under their eyes.

Close your eyes and cover your eyelids with slices of raw potato or cucumber for 15-20 minutes. Wash with warm water and apply a cream.

Grate a cucumber, squeeze to take out its juice and refrigerate. Make a mixture of lemon juice, lanolin cream and cucumber juice and apply around the eye for 10-15 minutes.

Apply lemon juice on the black circles 2 times a day.

Apply a paste of turmeric powder with pineapple juice for dark circles under the eyes.

Apply crushed mint around the eye.

Apply almond oil under eyes.

Reduce your intake of vitamin A. Over dose of medications such as Retin A produces “excessive” vascularization.

Niacinamide, a derivative of the vitamin Niacin, has been shown to be an effective skin lightening agent, especially for skin conditions where hyperpigmention may occur on the face or other visible parts of the body. Patients with hyperpigmentation applied a moisturizer containing five percent niacinamide. After four weeks, the hyperpigmentation and skin color were analyzed by computer and most patients experienced decreased hyperpigmentation and increased skin lightness. Topical niacinamide has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which makes it a potential treatment for puffy eyes and dark circles.

Almond helps to remove dark circles and is an excellent “skin food”. Remove the cream applied around the eye after 10 min. No cream should be left on the skin around the eyes for long periods.

Ways to stop snoring!!!

1
. Change positions

Sleeping on your back causes the base of your tongue to fall backward into your throat, which narrows your airway. So try sleeping on your side. If you find yourself still waking up on your back, prop your head up on several pillows. This will open up your nasal airway passages and may help you stop snoring.

2. Lose weight

Extra weight around the throat narrows the airway, which can trigger snoring. Shedding extra pounds can remedy the problem.

3. Avoid alcohol and sedatives

They depress your central nervous system, causing your muscles—which include the tissues in your throat—to relax too much. So avoid drinking alcohol at least two hours before bedtime, and exercise caution when taking sedatives.

4. Get enough sleep

If you’re overtired when you hit the sack, you sleep more deeply and your muscles become more limp, which can cause snoring. So be sure to get enough rest on a regular basis!

5. Try over-the-counter nasal strips

Strips open up your nasal passage, thus enhancing your breathing.

6. Fight nasal congestion

Congestion due to colds, allergies, or a deviated septum can limit airflow through your nose, forcing you to breathe through your mouth and increasing the likelihood of snoring. Try taking a hot shower before you go to bed to help open up your nasal passages. Using an oral or spray decongestant also can help, but see your doctor before such medications more than three days in a row. (Long-term use of decongestants can have a rebound effect and eventually make your congestion worse.) Your doctor may prescribe you a steroid spray for chronic congestion. Or, if you have a deviated septum, you may need surgery.

7. Remove allergens in your bedroom

Dust mites in pillows can cause allergic reactions that in turn can make you snore. So wash your pillows every other week, and replace them every six months to minimize dust mites and allergens. Dust your ceiling fan, and keep pets out of your bedroom.

8. Hydrate

Secretions in your nose become stickier when you’re dehydrated, which can cause you to snore. So drink plenty of water.

9. Rule out a more serious condition

If you’ve tried all of the above changes and you still snore, see your doctor. Your snoring may have a more serious cause, such as obstructive sleep apnea a condition in which your throat tissues obstruct your airway and prevent you from breathing. With proper diagnosis, sleep apnea can be effectively treated.

Home Remedies for Cracked Heels !!

Here are some home remedies to get rid of cracked rough heels

  • Massage your heels with sesame oil before going to bed. This is supposedly the best remedy for cracked heels.
  • Mix glycerin and rosewater together and apply in on the heels daily. This soothes and cures cracked heels real quick.
  • Take 1/4th bucket of water and squeeze one lemon in it, soak your feet in this and wash it with pumice stone and soap. Do this twice a week.
  • Massage your feet with coconut oil every night. With the dawn, scrub and rinse off.
  • Make a mixture of lemon juice and papaya; apply it on the cracked heels. Let it be there for 20 minutes at least. Wash off after 20 minutes.
  • Take lukewarm water and soak your feet in it for 15 minutes. This will loosen the dead skin; now wash off with a pumice stone.
  • Mix raw salt (khada namak) in Luke warm water, and scrub your heels sin it as you soak it. Natural Pedicure for your feet, and this will exfoliate your feet too.
  • Use special creams which are meant for treating cracked creams at night, and then scrub off in the morning and wash off, with a pumice stone. (the pumice stone, seems a savior na)
  • Take a super ripe banana, which has almost turned black, and you are about to throw in the dustbin. Mash it, and apply in on the affected areas. Let it be there for 15 minutes at least. Wash off after 15 minutes. This is for a quick healing.
  • Take Paraffin wax, and melt it adding some coconut oil to it. Fill in the crack with this mixture whilst going to bed, wash off in the morning. Mum did for around 2 weeks and the cracked heels are gone.
  • After washing your feet, massage with paraffin oil, Vaseline or hydrogenated vegetable oil. This will keep the feet hydrated.
  • Mix turmeric, tulsi and camphor in equal parts along with aloe vera gel and apply the paste on the heels. Just plain aloe vera gel is great for cracked heels.
  • Mix sodium bicarbonate in luke warm water and soak your feet in it. Wash off with a pumice stone. Helps in exfoliation.
  • Remember, the sugar scrub? Mix sugar with some oil, (olive, coconut, jojoba oil, just any oil) and scrub your feet with it. It is the sweetest cure for cracked heels. :P
  • Drink a lot of water to keep your skin and boy hydrated.

Other Tips to Avoid Cracked Heels

  • Wear the exact size of footwear. No thin soles and backed shoes please.
  • Moisturize your feet and specifically the heels.
  • Keep your feet clean. Scrub and Exfoliate them regularly.
  • Omega 3 and zinc deficiencies cause cracked heels, so make sure you don’t have these deficiencies.
  • Wash your feet every time you come home.
  • Use good creams and products for your feet too. :)
  • Use powder in your shoes and socks.
  • Walk on green grass. :)
