Josh,
Let me add my agreement to Rudy's, Peter's and Winston's posts. I'm a classic example of jumping in with both feet, and into too many ventures at a time. I'm spread so thin now that though everything is working to some extent, nothing is working as well as it could if I were concentrating solely on it.
That said, I've chosen my businesses, both offline and online, because they fit together and they have something to do with areas where I have personal experience and passionate interest. I'm not advocating getting involved in several ventures. In fact I would say Don't!
But do, please, take time to do your homework before you jump. I know that many people succumb to the lure of quick earnings...I'm here to tell you that if you make quick earnings at all (most don't), they melt away just as quickly when you make the mistake of getting into something that isn't well-thought out.
As the others have said, think about whether it makes sense for someone else to do it all for you, especially for little or no investment on your part. Be even more wary if there's a big investment.
As for who is a guru...think about all the sales letters you read on the internet, and how much they sound alike. Do you believe any of them? Now read some of Linda's posts. A more sane, sensible and knowledgeable person you will not find. Listen to her.
