Josh, The company I'm using makes it clear that spreading oneself over more than one venture is not a good thing. I realize that a motive for promoting that might be to capture as big a share of the market as possible. Depending what the products and opportunities are, they may compliment each other so I wouldn't necessarily support that view. The inital cost might be something to evaluate. My venture only requires approximately $50 Canadian or #30.00 U.S.and no auto-ship, minimum orders or inventory. The "online" aspect is only one tool my venture uses to market and network. "Darn easy" doesn't compute with the ethics that contsists of work. I don't physical but everything it takes to accomplish such goals.

Josh, -------------------------------------------- "You don't know who the wrong people are." -------------------------------------------- Determining who they are is definitely not an easy thing to do when you are first getting started, that's for sure. Some of the easy signs I have found for detecting the wrong people are in their words: 1. Easy. 2. No Work. 3. Sit back and let us do the work for you. and on and on.... One thing you can rest assured knowing is that like any business, a lot of work IS required. Starting with a small budget certainly doesn't help a lot. It's still doable, but it takes a lot longer with a lot more work. I also think that diversifying is important however you should get your feet on the ground with one business before you start jumping into another. Otherwise you spread yourself too thin and get nowhere fast. Just my two cents worth! Hang around here though and you'll learn a lot of great information. It will definitely help you avoid a lot of the normal pitfalls that people run into when getting started.

Hi Josh, As Winston stated if you follow along in Linda's forum you will always find good advice. In regards to your own comments, it is for sure difficult to know and understand whos advice to follow as there is a lot of misinformation being passed out and a lot of the people passing it out think they are following good advice so they do not fully understand what they are passing along. When you state that you "decided to just take a leap of faith and work with just one marketing business/", I start to get a little concerned. Just taking a leap of faith into anything that you have not done your due diligence on is dangerous and there is no way to know if you are making a wise leap. With you stating that being a newby is somewhat of an understatement, I have to ask what your knowledge base might be in marketing on line and if you are informed enough to make any sort of leap yet? There is always this underlying desire by newbies to start to try to earn money before they learn the knowledge required to do so. I would advice that you take it slow and investigate what you are getting into before you take on something you might not be well enough informed about. If you are going to be selling an Internet Marketing product ask yourself, "What do you know about Internet Marketing? Do you have enough knowledge as a newbie to come off as credible? Is this really a soubd product?" If you are signing up to have a marketing company market a product for you, once again, do you have enough knowledge to know if they know what they are doing? From what I read in your post I think you need to stop before you get to far into something that you might not understand enough about. Take some time to read and learn and always be very cautious. I don't feel that there is enough information in your post to make a real judgement call on what you are leaping into except for your statement about being a newbie. That alone tells me you need to slow down as you might already be moving to fast even with just one marketing business. If you care to share more about what you are looking at getting involved with I am sure that you will be able to get more solid feedback. I hope this helps some and read, read read, do not be afraid to ask questions. You need to take it slow, as everyone else is finding out.

============================================= I don't feel that there is enough information in your post to make a real judgement call on what you are leaping into except for your statement about being a newbie. That alone tells me you need to slow down as you might already be moving to fast even with just one marketing business. ============================================= I don't know if it's possible to stress this point even more. It's a very good point that Peter makes. Depending on how fast you learn, you may waste months if not years by skipping over doing your research up front (I say that speaking from experience). =========================================== ...read, read read, do not be afraid to ask questions. =========================================== There's no such thing as a stupid question. Often times we are afraid of asking things for fear of looking silly. If you don't know the answer to something, ASK! It's a much quicker way to learn than using personal experience. Mind you some things you will only learn through personal experience. We as people have a way of being "stubborn" at times! :-)
