Quote: What an idiot report, posting the police officers information is stupid. The cop answers to the Police Commissioner, who answers to the mayor. The OWS beef is with the government not to mention they are destroying property and occupying areas after hours. Law abiding citizens simply do not do this crap Look at the Tea Parties. Blaming the cops is simply ludicrous. They are playing right into the hands of their oppressors of the future.
Some comments come in handy here.
- No doubt some members of the public were there solely to have good fight and provoked the police. (Idiots, all of them.) But it's the job of a police force to act with restraint and this doesn't sound anything like restraint.
Why do we have a police force? At the risk of a naive answer, to combat criminality. Are the vast majority of these members of the public criminals? No. They're not. They're exercising their democratic right to peaceful protest.
- Why is none understanding that big corperations have bought their own army?
And this army, violates the United States Constitution.
This is the EXACT definition of fascism.
We are no longer dealing with Democrat and Republican
Though many Nazi's and Fascists are hiding behind the label of "Republican"
- It's not the Police who are violent. It's the radicals who go to these protesting events that cause trouble & violence.I get so sick & tired of people yelling police brutality when they don't have a clue as to what really goes on.
(True, they have been identified)

- Can you produce one video clip demonstrating an Occupy camp using physical violence? The only time I have seen any of the protesters fighting back was in self-defense. In EVERY case that I have seen, the police initiated the violence.
- This is a revolution whose time has come. Our government is largely corrupt and out of control. It has forgotten its purpose which is to serve the needs of the American people. Really tired of self-serving politicians who make careers out of personal greed. We need term limits. All politicians should pay into social security and medicare. When their term is up, they go back to the work world and others step in for their term of serving the people. Without such changes, any hope of democracy and decency is doomed.
- Oh the police are so brave and courageous! They make me sick. I do believe that if Diane O and people like her lived in Nazi Germany in the 1930's she would be saying something similar about the Jews, Blacks, Gypsies and Anarchists. Look how well that turned out for them!
- I use to own a Bar Restaurant and employed about a dozen people. Now I could have paid them minimum wage and hope that they received the rest from tips but I realized early on that these people were just as important to the success of my business as I was. I gave them an incentive to make the business better. I also realised that they had just as much right to success as I did. Now I don't expect diane and republicans to understand this concept, but they should at least understand that just because you're in a position to exploit people doesn't that you should (...)
- It's videos like this that show how inhumane some of the policeman are an a LT. at that the one in charge of them.
I find it disturbing that some people do not know that in the last 30+ years that our tax laws have made the rich, richer and corporations pay so little in taxes. These are students on their champs so why the riot police? Well the more of this that comes out the more people will realize what they are living in; soon a leader will come forth and you will see that the time has come to change the status of laws just as in the Civil Rights cause. The corruption in Washington is unbelievable, the greed that surrounds corporate American is unbelievable, the media's lack of investigative reporting and their responsibility to inform the public of the truth has been lacking because they are part of Corporate American and it is in their best interest to continue the status quo. The people are tired of what this country has become but it's going to take years for change to really take place; it's winter now wait until spring comes and more and more people have decided what this country has become is not right. Justice will come and change will come it just takes time and people to continue Civil Disobedience. We have see this time and again though out history.
- I see that over 50 years after the Civil Rights Movement, some people just don't get it. Of course, they are the same people who loved the Bush/Cheney regime and prefer a dictatorship to a democracy! They are saying the same things that people in the 60s were saying, those people just need to stay within the law, who are they to speak out against the government, they are a bunch of losers, they need to get a job, long haired creeps that want to destroy America, minorities have nothing to complain about because they have it so good in America, they are a bunch of socialists, they just want our money etc. The more things change, the more things stay the same.
When I saw the video of the police at UC Davis and the blatant crime by that officer, it reminded me of May 4, 1970 at Kent State. The police and the people in power are afraid and when they are afraid, they become violent and will use whatever means they need to suppress the protesters. Sad, but it just like what is happening all over the world. One would think that the US is suppose to be fair and free, but, in actuality, it is not.
- The First Amendment (Amendment I) to the United States Constitution is part of the Bill of Rights. The amendment prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion, impeding the free exercise of religion, abridging the freedom of speech, infringing on the freedom of the press, interfering with the right to peaceably assemble or prohibiting the petitioning for a governmental redress of grievances.
- I believe the actions of the police at the various OWS sites proves too many of the personnel involved in law enforcement are just plain cruel and inhumane. How else could you explain spraying pepper spray in the face of peacefiul seated protesters in addition to the other violent reactions against peaceful demonstaters by these police forces.
- I make a good living as a consultant for a large corporation and I pay a fair amount of taxes to the Fed and State govs. However, I CARE about others and I do I believe we as a society are only as good as our weakest citizens. Would you stop and assist a hungry, crying child in the streets or would you simply walk on by? I sure know what I would do and I suspect I know what you would do as well, which tells me all I need to know about the likes of you.
Until there are no cold, hungry, uneducated kids in this country without homes, the US might as well be Somalia or some other 3rd would country. It is measures like this on which we are judged and in my opinion the USA has a LONG way to go.
- While the world watches, this is how the greatest might in the world handles peaceful Democratic messages and protests. Tear gas, swinging clubs, face shields, riot shields, and in many cases 2 or 3 police in full gear for every ONE unarmed protestor. And best of all, going after ladies in their 80's and war veterans exercising the rights they put their lives on the line for and so richly earned. What a pretty picture!
- I could care less about who is rich or poor. Growing up my friends' dad was the wealthiest person in my town. He was also a crack head. Money doesn't make people different. Who cares? What the #ows movement is about is that Fukushima doused the entire northern hemisphere with radioactive oxides. Chevron doused the rainforest with oil the way BP did the gulf. Fort Calahoun almost took out the midwest. Uranium interests have a plan under works that will take out the south east agriculture. Brazinski's cancer treatments, that none will argue don't work, are criminalized by the FDA. 1/4 of all mammals will be extinct in the next 20 years and the EPA is doing nothing to prevent it. Because the oil companies own the EPA. The drug companies own the FDA. And it is a global problem. Shell did it to the Niger delta. And they just expanded drilling into the everglades without so much as a public hearing. As a ecologist who has worked on that system I can say not one conservation biologist was contacted about the possible impacts. They just don't care. And they are planning to do it to the arctic next. Its the fact that the sugar industry, two cuban brothers, have more power in the white house than every Florida citizen combined; this directly led to draining their dirty water into the everglades and killing 95% of the reef system in one year. Get your head out of your @ss and wake up. Just because you are complacent doesn't mean you are right.
- Lest we FORGET.....a VERY BLOODY AMERICAN revolution was fought and WON because of EXACTLY what we are experiencing NOW! Our country WOULD NOT exist nor would ANY of us have the RIGHT to speak up had this not happened!! When our so-called "leaders" become as dictatorial, greedy and uncaring as our corporate overlords have become, what is supposed to happen? We are urged by our constitution to hold our elected officials accountable and it is quite obvious that THEY have been completely corrupted by corporate "individuals" and their fascist agenda.
When you stand for NOTHING, you fall for ANYTHING! Those of you who are so critical of OWS just remember, many THOUSANDS of AMERICANS have died standing up for your RIGHT to disagree!
Our country, our environment, our WORLD is systematically being destroyed all in the name of GREED! Americans have always been complacent about our RIGHTS and now they are being tested like they haven't been in a very long time with alarming results. Keep that in mind as this situation unfolds. whether you like it or not, these protesters are actually protecting YOUR first amendment rights too!
- There is growing evidence that any violence allegedly perpetrated by OWS is in fact perpetrated in the main by plants--people masquerading as OWS in order to bring harm to the movement.
There is, in fact, a verified report that the ABA offered an $850,000 contract for just that.
UC DAVIS: Police used batons to try to push the students apart. Those they could separate, they arrested, kneeling on their bodies and pushing their heads into the ground. Those they could not separate, they pepper-sprayed directly in the face, holding these students as they did so. When students covered their eyes with their clothing, police forced open their mouths and pepper-sprayed down their throats. Several of these students were hospitalized. Others are seriously injured. One of them, forty-five minutes after being pepper-sprayed down his throat, was still coughing up blood.
UC BERKELY: UC Berkeley faculty stood together with students, their arms linked together. Associate Professor of English Celeste Langan was grabbed by her hair, thrown on the ground, and arrested. Associate Professor Geoffrey O’Brien was injured by baton blows. Professor Robert Hass, former Poet Laureate of the United States, National Book Award and Pulitzer Prize winner, wa
I am afraid this could go on forever. I hope this is enough.
