Police clashes mar Occupy protests

Thousands in New York and other cities march on the two-month anniversary of the movement's birth. Over 300 arrests

NEW YORK (AP) — Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets, the New York Stock Exchange and the subways to raise their voices against what they say is corporate excess.

But since police in riot helmets, batons and riot shields ousted them from their two-month encampments, Occupy Wall Street protesters singled out officers as another enemy, saying their crowd control tactics were an excessive, chilling use of force against free speech.

"The police played their role. I wouldn't call it respectful," said Danny Shaw, 33, on Thursday in a day of protests across the country to mark the two-month anniversary of the movement against what demonstrators say is economic inequality.

Tear gas in Oakland, Calif., pepper spray that hit an 84-year-old Seattle woman in the face and hundreds of arrests of demonstrators and journalists at Occupy protests across the U.S. this week shone the spotlight on the varying crowd control tactics of police, most who used helmets and riot gear as they broke up encampments in New York and other cities.

"Police Brutality," protesters' signs blared. New York officials have called for investigations of the police raid of Zuccotti Park in lower Manhattan early Tuesday.

Experts on policing say departments have used necessary tactics to control unpredictable, sometimes violent protesters, and that the police haven't reached the stages yet of full riot protection.

"I don't think they're rioting at Occupy Wall Street, not yet, but they are getting out of control," said Maki Haberfeld, a professor of police studies at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York. "If they were rioting, you would see much more riot gear" like sonic devices and high-powered weapons, she said.

But the images that have played across the country have been disconcerting to some: 84-year-old Dorli Rainey's face dripping with pepper spray and the liquid used to treat it, and police and protesters pushing each other in New York Thursday over metal barricades in downtown Manhattan.

"When somebody puts their hands on somebody itself, it never looks right," Haberfeld said. "But this is what they're allowed to do. ... It is truly not excessive and I am surprised by how not excessive it is."

The demonstrations Thursday — in such cities as Los Angeles, Boston, Las Vegas, Washington and Portland, Ore. — were for the most part peaceful. But at least 300 people were arrested in New York and dozens were arrested elsewhere, including five on charges they assaulted police officers by throwing liquid into several officers' faces and tossing glass at another.

"We will assure that everyone has the right to exercise their First Amendment rights," Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Thursday after visiting one hospitalized officer who needed 20 stitches on his hand. But "if anyone's actions cross the line and threaten the health and safety of others including our first responders, we will respond accordingly."

Chanting "All day, all week, shut down Wall Street," more than 1,000 protesters gathered near the New York Stock Exchange and sat down in several intersections. A dozen metal sleeves intended to lock protesters to fixtures on the street were confiscated, police said. Several thousand jammed Manhattan's Foley Square Thursday evening and marched to the Brooklyn Bridge.

Several weeks ago, an attempt to march across the bridge drew the first significant international attention to the Occupy movement as more than 700 people were arrested.

In Seattle on Thursday, hundreds of Occupy Seattle and labor demonstrators shut down the University Bridge. Traffic was snarled as protesters from two different rallies held marches as part of a national day of action demanding jobs.

In Los Angeles, helmeted police equipped with batons surrounded the base of a bank tower but the protest remained peaceful. Several hundred Occupy sympathizers marched to the Bank of America Plaza in downtown Los Angeles, with some setting up tents on a lawn. Police arrested two dozen people after they sat down in a street during a peaceful rally by hundreds of people organized by labor groups who had a permit.

Authorities cleared an encampment set up by Occupy protesters on the University of California, Berkeley campus; about 150 police officers and deputies in riot gear.

Police arrested 21 demonstrators in Las Vegas, and 20 were led away in plastic handcuffs in Portland, Ore., for sitting down on a bridge. At least a dozen were arrested in St. Louis after they sat down cross-legged and locked arms in an attempt to block a bridge over the Mississippi River.

Several of the demonstrations coincided with an event planned months earlier by a coalition of unions and liberal groups, including Moveon.org and the Service Employees International Union, in which out-of-work people walked over bridges in several cities to protest high unemployment.

The street demonstrations also marked two months since the Occupy movement sprang to life in New York on Sept. 17. They were planned well before police raided a number of encampments over the past few days, but were seen by some activists as a way to demonstrate their resolve in the wake of the crackdown.

Thursday's demonstrations around Wall Street brought taxis and delivery trucks to a halt, but police were largely effective at keeping the protests confined to just a few blocks.

Officers allowed Wall Street workers through the barricades, but only after checking their IDs.

Live television shots Thursday showed waves of police and protesters shoving back metal barricades set up to separate the protest from the public in downtown Manhattan. Some of the police hit protesters as they resisted arrest.

Emmanuel Pardilla, 20, a political science and history major at Fordham University in New York, said the heavy police presence "added to the fear tactic."

Haberfeld and other policing experts said the crowd control was aggressive, but not excessive. But First Amendment experts said that every interaction with demonstrators, particularly when televised nationally, can thwart the goal of protests and discourage others from joining.

"That's really is terribly inhibiting," said New York attorney Herald Fahringer. "Because people say, 'Gee, well, I don't want to go out there and join the protest if I run the risk of getting hit over the head with a billy club."

UNITED STATES of America -It can now be reported that J. P. Morgan is involved in massive fraud involving the bankruptcy of investment bank MF Global.

We can now divulge that it was J. P. Morgan and German Deutsche Bank, along with Glencore Commodities out of Zurich, Switzerland (whose CEO is none other than Bush-Clinton Crime Family stooge Marc Rich) that issued the collateral aka bogus derivatives that were used by MF Global to place trades on the European sovereign debt.

J. P. Morgan then proceeded to use their offshore hedge fund on the Isle of Man to take the opposite position of MF Global by buying EURO currency futures and simultaneously shorting MF Global stock.

It now gets worse!

Financial terrorist Jamie Dimon, CEO of J. P. Morgan, then proceeded to conspire with the European Central Bank and the ISDA to declare a non-credit event and basically cancel the trades of MF Global, which led to the bankruptcy of MF Global. (A former ECB Vice Chairman headquartered in Portugal has recently resigned his position with the ECB. He is under European INTERPOL investigation for conspiring with the privately-owned U.S. Federal Reserve and J. P. Morgan aka a massive money laundry tied to the forex currency exchanges and the Greek, Spanish and Portuguese banks).

J. P. Morgan then used their proceeds from the decapitation of MF Global to sell credit protection to Bank of America, which had massive exposure to Asian derivative debt.

Both J.P. Morgan and Bank of America then proceeded to buy Japanese yen futures on the worldwide forex exchange, which was designed to complete the derivative swindle.

Once this latest Ponzi Scheme was unraveled the Japanese Central Bank unilaterally intervened to depreciate the Japanese yen and buy U.S. dollars.

P.S. We can now divulge that the alleged missing $600 MILLION from MF Global segregated accounts have actually, for the last two weeks, been part in the custodial accounts of J. P. Morgan and Morgan Stanley.

As of this morning the funds have now been illegally transferred to proprietary accounts of Barclays Bank in England and their secret hedge fund named Humewood Associates.

Note: This is massive obstruction of justice!

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder needs to be immediately indicted by a People's Grand Jury.

P.P.S. We can now reveal that both U.S. Attorney General and Marc Rich stooge, Eric Holder, and SEC Chairman Mary Schapiro refused to seize the custodial accounts of J. P. Morgan even though a majority of DOJ and SEC investigators demanded that it be done immediately.

What we now have, folks, is money laundry enabled by both the SEC and the U.S. Department of Justice.

P.P.P.S. As of this hour crooked U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder aka Marc Rich-Jamie Dimon defense attorney, has left the country and is on his way to the Bahamas for an alleged legal conference.

Question: Could it be Eric Holder is going to the Bahamas to pick up his commission check from Marc Rich and Glencore Commodities?

Final note: We can now report that former MF Global CEO Jon Corzine is about to receive transitional immunity from Justice Department investigators that are busy unraveling the J. P. Morgan-MF Global debacle.

The only thing needed to complete this negotiation is for the U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to sign off on it.

Question: Could it be that is the reason Eric Holder is flying to the Bahamas?

UNITED STATES of America - It can now be reported that SEC Chairman Mary Schapiro, CFTC Chairman Gary Gensler and Bush-Clinton Crime Family Syndicate stooge alleged U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder are covering up the latest Ponzi Scheme involving financial terrorist J. P. Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon.

Reference: This all dovetails to the MF Global financial fiasco.

We can now divulge that financial terrorist Jamie Dimon (aka J.P. Morgan) actually shorted MF Global stock in advance of the ISDA decision, which declared MF Global's short positions on the EURO currency aka the European sovereign debt null and void based on a non-credit event.

Financial terrorist Dimon, in collusion with the conspiratorial privately-owned U.S. Federal Reserve, used the proceeds from this criminal fraudulent transaction to buy EURO currency and comex gold futures as an attempt to create an illusionary spread sheet that would allow them to support their current global Ponzi Scheme.

P.S. Remember, folks, all of this is hocus pocus criminal activity based on worthless toxic derivatives aka IOUs that represent nothing.

P.P.S. At this hour we can also divulge that Obama Administration cabinet official William Daley is about to resign his position as Obama's Chief of Staff given his collussion in this Ponzi Scheme.

P.P.P.S. We can also divulge that Bloomberg News has been doing the bidding of Citibank and the Saudi Royal Family to boost the price of crude oil for the purpose of supporting Saudi derivatives, which are tied to none other than J. P. Morgan.

Bloomberg and the USDA went as far as to blatantly lie about the current worldwide stockpile of corn vs wheat. Bloomberg tried to boost the price of corn based on the ethanol equation.

The truth, folks, is that there is a massive wheat shortage and a corn surplus.

In closing a message to media filth like Bloomberg News: The American People are enraged so, accordingly, cease and desist your lying!

Remember, folks, you are either for us or against us.

Proceed with massive revolutionary mode as we continue to identify the enemies of the American Revolution in the 21st century and eradicate them.

Israel’s Plan to Destroy Iran’s Civilian Infrastructure

    Kurt Nimmo

    November 18, 2011

photoIran’s fledgling nuclear program is not the real reason Israel plans to attack.

Israel plans not only to attack Iran’s fledgling nuclear program, but also its civilian infrastructure.

Eli Lake, writing for The Daily Beast, cites current and former U.S. intelligence officials who say Israel’s target list includes Iran’s electric grid, internet, cellphone network, and emergency frequencies for firemen and police officers.

Officials say Israel has developed a weapon that simulates a maintenance cellphone signal commanding cell networks to “sleep” and stopping transmissions. It also has electronic jammers that can interrupt emergency frequencies for first responders and police.

Iran’s civilian electric grids are connected to the internet and vulnerable to cyberattack with computer viruses such as Stuxnet, a sophisticated version of malware developed by the United States and the Israelis. A retired senior military intelligence officer told the Daily Beast the Israelis also have the capability to launch a denial-of-service attack on Iran’s command and control system that is connected to the Internet.

The Israelis will likely use an unmanned drone known as Eitan to deliver a blow to Iran’s civilian infrastructure. The Eitan can fly for 20 straight hours and carry a payload of one ton. Another version of the drone, however, can fly up to 45 straight hours, according to U.S. and Israeli officials, The Daily Beast reports. The Eitan is part of Israel’s special electronic air force unit known as the Sky Crows, which concentrates on electronic warfare.

The existence of a program designed to cripple crucial civilian infrastructure not related to Iran’s nuclear program reveals that the Israeli-U.S. plan is to reduce the country to a Stone Age condition much the same way Iraq was leveled in 2003.

Beginning in 1991 with Bush Senior’s illegal invasion, Iraqi civilians and their infrastructure were deliberately targeted by the U.S. military. The savage bombardment had a “near apocalyptic impact” on Iraq and had transformed the country into a “pre-industrial age nation,” which “had been until January a rather highly urbanized and mechanized society,” writes author William Blum, citing United Nations observations.

    Iraq’s civilian infrastructure targeted.

“Bombing of Iraqi cities served no military purpose but was designed to destroy the civilian infrastructure. War games in July 1990 in South Carolina trained pilots to bomb civilian targets and Pentagon statements about plans to bomb civilian targets in August and September 1990 are evidence that these targets were set well in advance of January 15, 1991,” writes David Model in his book,Lying for Empire: How to Commit War Crimes With A Straight Face.

“Critical elements of the civilian infrastructure were destroyed including communication systems, oil refineries, electric generators, water treatment facilities, dams, and transportation centers,” Model continues. “Over 90 percent of Iraq’s electrical capacity was destroyed in the first days of the bombing.”

Iraq’s water supply was specifically targeted and resulted in the death of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi children. Iraq’s capacity to produce food was also destroyed by attacks on agriculture, food processing, food storage and the food distribution system. Half of Iraq’s agricultural output depended on irrigation systems which were also destroyed.

In addition to hundreds of hospitals, health centers, mosques and schools, Bush’s Pentagon bombed densely populated cities, killing thousands. Civilian highway traffic was targeted and vehicles such as buses and cars were bombed repeatedly.

Following the decimation of Iraq, the United Nations imposed draconian sanctions on the country that resulted in the death of more than a million, including over 500,000 children. When that failed to unseat Iraq’s dictator Saddam Hussein (a former CIA asset), Bush’s son launched another invasion of the country in 2003. As a result, more than a million people have died.

6 years after war, Iraq still in ruins.

Israel and the United States plan to do the same to Iran, using its nuclear program as an excuse the same way Bush and the neocons used Saddam’s alleged weapons as of mass destruction as an excuse to level the country.

Prior to Bush Senior’s invasion, Iraq was an industrialized country with a modern infrastructure with electricity and water available to the entire country. Following the first invasion and the imposition of medieval sanctions, the country was on par with failed states in Africa.

Iran, despite its fledgling nuclear program, does not threaten either Israel or the United States. The problem, according to the international bankers and the globalists, is that Iran is not a vassal state mired in poverty and misery like many of its neighbors. It does not take orders from Wall Street and the City of London.

Even the IMF is obliged to note that Iran’s economy grew by 3.2 percent this year on the strength of greater agriculture production and higher oil prices. It is not indebted to the bankers and refuses to kowtow to Israel’s insatiable hegemonic drive, so it has to be reduced to rubble.

    Post-Apocalypse Japan: 8 Months Later

On Saturday, reporters were allowed to visit the Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear power plant for the first time, a positive sign that the reactors have finally stabilized. However, the road to recovery will be long and expensive. The cost for rebuilding is estimated to be over $122 million and the Japanese government predicts it may take 30 years to eradicate the sinister wake of nuclear material and to fully entomb the leaking reactors, leaving tens of thousands disposed of their homes in the toxic region.

But as the 1-year anniversary nears, there are reasons for Japan to be hopeful. Not only are the reactors finally stabilized, the Japanese economy has grown for the first time since the disaster.

On Around the World, Christiane Amanpour sits down with Patrick Walsh, the US Pacific Fleet Commander who spearheaded "Operation Tomodachi," which brought an unprecedented aid effort to our stressed allies.
