Raw Video: Cops pepper spray passive protesters

Video of a tense standoff between police and Occupy demonstrators at the University of California, Davis shows an officer using pepper spray on a group of protesters who appear to be sitting passively on the ground with their arms interlocked. (Nov. 19)

Thank you Amanda, Patricia and Myrna for your kind, valuable contributions.

Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, Hong Kong occupied —Beijing worried

Inspired by the global Occupation movement, a group of mostly women protesters from all over Japan are camping in front of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) in Tokyo's Kasumigaseki district to oppose nuclear power in the wake of the Fukushima disaster. The camp, established Oct. 30, also embraces the economic demands of the wider movement. (Panorient News, Nov. 5)

Hundreds of demonstrators in cities and towns across South Korea have held weekly vigils to demand economic relief since the global mobilization of Oct. 15, when protesters attempted to occupy Seoul Plaza, and led police on a chase throughout the city's financial district. Masked protesters held banners reading "Occupy Seoul" and "Tax the Rich 1%—Welfare for the 99%."

North Korea's KCNA news agency gloated that the protests in the South indicate the "pent-up wrath against avaricious big banks and companies that caused economic inequality." (Huffington Post, Oct. 28) (This reminds us of Iran's mullahs cynically cheering the Egyptian protests, only to cheer on the repression in Syria.)

In Taiwan, where hundreds held an "Occupy Taipei" rally on Oct. 15, farmers organized under the Taiwan Rural Front this week established a protest vigil in the capital to oppose new revisions to the Land Expropriation Act, which broadens the terms under which farmlands can be seized for development projects. (Taipei Times, Nov. 19; Taiwan News, Oct. 17)

Hong Kong protesters have pitched tents outside the Asian headquarters of HSBC Holdings, and pledge to stay. Spokesman Tommy Chan, 21, told Bloomberg the aim is "to raise the awareness in the city toward the unfairness of the existing capitalist system." Hong Kong police said in an e-mailed statement that authorities "respect the rights of individuals to peaceful assemblies and to express their views." Participants, who also embrace the Japanese anti-nuclear demand, include adherents of the organizations Socialist Action, the Community of Workers International, and "Anonomous"—described as a "a non-violent decentralized resistance group." (Bloomberg, Nov. 16; Press Enza, Oct. 19)

On mainland China, authorities have again taken pre-emptive electronic action to snuff protest calls. The Beijing government has added to its list of banned terms in web searches. Users of the country's popular microblogging site Sina Weibo will now be blocked from searching for phrases that could be tied to the Occupation movement. The banned search terms include any permutation of the word "Occupy" followed by any of China's cities. For instance, searches for "Occupy Beijing" will come up empty. (Government Computer News, Oct. 24)

Shoking Images Show Ecalating Violence Against OWS

November 17th marked the two-month anniversary of the Occupy Wall Street movement. To demonstrate resilience and solidarity in the face of coordinated crack-downs, Occupiers around the world organized a massive day of action.

Many of these actions were met with marked violence by law enforcement. At UC Davis, a police officer flippantly pepper-sprayed seated college students at point-blank range while a wall of onlookers documented the heartless act.

Update: The cop who used the pepper spray, reported to be Lt. John Pike, earns $110,000 a year–almost twice that of an experienced assistant professor at UC Davis. Pike’s cell phone number is (530) 752-3989 (confirmed). His email is japikeiii@ucdavis.edu. Tell him what you think of his violence against these kids and the interests that he serves.

A similar scene played out at Occupy Portland, which was completely destroyed by the Portland Police Department last week. On November 17th, 21 Occupy Portland protesters were arrested occupying Chase Bank and Wells Fargo. These actions followed the arrest of twenty-five union members on the Steel Bridge protesting the lack of infrastructure spending and job creation, which was led by We Are Oregon and organized labor.

Over twelve instances of pepper spray at point blank range targeting people on the sidewalk, reported Occupy Portland in a statement. Two people were stepped on and pushed down by police horses. At least six people were beaten with batons by the police. Seven people were injured from impacts with police bicycles. One individual suffered an injured back after being forcefully grabbed by a mounted office. One elderly person was taken to the hospital with leg or hip injuries.

“On multiple occasions the police pointlessly endangered demonstrators and ensarled traffic, including a mounted charge of peaceful protesters on a sidewalk, forcing them onto the MAX tracks on SW Yamhill,” said David Osborn.

In New York City, the nexus of the Occupy Wall Street movement, over 30,000 people took to the streets (see above) to protest political and economic injustice, and to show support for the recently evicted Zuccotti Park occupation. Over 100 were arrested at the action, including journalists.

A man who identified himself as Brendan Watts was beaten to the ground by police officers in Zuccotti Park. According to reports he was injured and suffered a fractured skull after being hit with a baton to the head as police clashed with protesters.

At 3pm, thousands of students, workers, and other supporters gathered in Union Square chanting “Shut the city down!” and using the People’s Mic to share stories of how banks and corporate greed have impacted the 99%. Simultaneously, Occupiers took to multiple subway stations in all five boroughs. The day of action culminated when the student strike, labor unions, and various OWS groups took over a number of streets in Lower Manhattan on their way to Foley Square before marching across the Brooklyn Bridge.

What an idiot report, posting the police officers information is stupid. The cop answers to the Police Commissioner, who answers to the mayor. The OWS beef is with the government not to mention they are destroying property and occupying areas after hours. Law abiding citizens simply do not do this crap Look at the Tea Parties. Blaming the cops is simply ludicrous. They are playing right into the hands of their oppressors of the future.

Hi Luis,

Yes, we are at the end time. People are waking up seeing how they have been used and abused. There is not need to accuse this one or that one for whose fault it is, we are in this together. Yes, times are scary, exciting, good, bad ,and ugly, but we the People are finding ourselves for the 1st time. Awakening and alive. Alive to find the love that is between people, to see them working together against the ones that have kept us in bondage for so long. This is what it is all about, waking into the love that is coming to this planet. Isn't it wonderful. May we soon have that total peace on earth.
Blessings and love to you all.
Myrna

HEAVEN #4013 Reach into Your Heart , November 20, 2011

God said:

There is one thing to focus on in life, and that is on Me, for focus on Me is focus on love, and focus on love is service.

You are to serve everyone. You do serve everyone by your thoughts and deeds. You are serving right now. Serve well, beloved ones.

You are not able to adore everyone. There is not everyone that you can lavish true affection on. Nevertheless, no matter from what distance, you can neutralize any discontent from your heart. You do not have to cast blame or negativity. It is even great love to let someone go from your heart so that you have no obstacles to the nature of your own heart which is love.

There may be people who have "done you wrong," and, still, you do not have to harbor them in your heart. Let them go. Bless them to Me, and let them go from you. Antagonisms are little wisps of smoke. Let the wisps go up to Heaven and disappear. I will transmute them. What a beautiful agent of love you are when you can let pinpricks in your heart go. Beloveds, anything that is not love is a mere pinprick. Whatever offense has ever been done to you or any offense you have ever given anyone, any lingering in your heart has to find its way out. Tell it: "Sayonara, ill feelings. You don't belong here. You don't belong anywhere."

Why, sometimes your mind goes back to first grade and a slight that was done to you. It was not right. It should not have happened, true. Nor should you be hanging on to this outdated offense, making it alive until this day. You have said to yourself, "I just can't get rid of you, negative thought." And so you keep it alive. It is time now to see off any smidgeon of ill-will. Ill-will is not to be allowed, for it sours your stomach and curdles your heart.

Remove ill-will from your heart. Gently reach into your heart and pull out ill-will. Picture yourself picking up each piece of negativity with your fingers and blowing it away with your breath as you might a butterfly.

Take the time to do this. You may think you have a bottomless pit of negativity moiled in your heart. Take out each piece one by one. There is a bottomless pit of love in your heart. Love goes deep. Let Us call it a mountain of love, an ocean of love, a sky of love, a Heaven of love. Why, any negativity in your heart is just a whippersnapper. It is a little ash. It is a No in your heart that wants to linger, for what would not want to be in your heart? Yet the only thing that has the right to be there is love. Anything else but love has to go.

Surely, you haven't thought that you need to keep anything in your heart that is not love. You haven't thought that anger fires you up and sees you through life? Begin to know deeply that anything but love is of no use to you or anyone. Negativity, no matter how small, is a naysayer. In fact, all negativity is small. That's why it likes to add fuel to the fire. It wants to blaze and make smoke and infuriate you again and again. Kick it out. Tell negativity it has overstayed its welcome. No longer will you stand for such nonsense.

Gently pick up each flake of negativity and blow it away. See how much lighter you feel. You have renounced negativity, and you have lessened its hold on the world.
