I agree with Kathleen to a point. It's easy to create a new thread right here in the POTW Forum no need to create a New Forum, in my opinion.
I also agree that if a person is truly interested in being nominated for POTW Award should be able to be open enough to network with the community and make friends. Then let it be known they wish to run and or be nominated. Short of that then, they should have no fear of nominating themselves in the
POTW Self Nominations Thread.
And all times never hesitate to send the POTW Team a message stating you would like to be nominated and point out you meet the requirements. You can do that now.

I believe in self-nomination, but also think if newer members take the time to make friends, they can let people know they're interested in being nominated.
