Thanks, Jo,

I know you voted after that, BUT would you have contacted the nominees and voted if I hadn't replied there? If people don't want to vote, then they should just quietly decide not to vote, not make a post about not voting. When other visitors to the election thread see that, they may also decide not to vote and also post that they don't want to vote. Having 2 posts like that, as the first & second posts, I didn't want to see a domino effect like we had a couple years ago when an election thread turned into chaos.

The profile links serve a purpose, nobody wants to see the election threads full of people saying they're refusing to vote because they don't want to click links.

If anyone remembers way back in 2006, that's when I first started visiting the community, there were no profile links with the candidates, just names and photos, because people were posting in forums a lot and got to know each other in public, then within that year, I suggested that profile links be there also. I never expected there would be a time when people wouldn't even want to click on them at all.

There was nothing wrong with any of those candidates that people should completely refuse to vote.

Kathleen,

I was the 1st one of those 'long time members who didn't want to vote because I was not familiar with the nominees".... What you did not include, is that I did cast a vote, after visiting each nominee and inviting them to my friends list.

Thank you so much,
Jo

Mark,

Adlandpro Community is about networking, and the election is supposed to be a community gathering, a focal point, and the profile links for the nominees are supposed to promote networking.

I was surprised a couple weeks ago when 2 longterm members posted in the election thread that they didn't want to vote because they didn't know any of the 4 nominees, even though one of those nominees was a previous winner, and the profile links have been part of the election process for over 6 years and both of those members who said they didn't want to vote have also been here about that long. When 2 longterm members make the first 2 posts about not voting, that's not a good example for other longterm members or new members, when it's as simple as clicking the profile links for more info about nominees. If people don't want to vote, then they just don't vote, but I don't see any reason to post about not voting because of not knowing nominees YET, that discourages other people, especially when it's the first AND second post in the election poll.

It's not about not being able to find the Adlandpro election, hundreds of people know it occurs every week and know exactly how and where to find it. Everyone also knows how to click profile links and send friendship invitations and messages and look thru previous forum posts.

There's a loyal core of people here who vote consistently, post to forums consistently and keep our forums active consistently and encourage people to vote consistently, week after week, month after month, year after year. Consistency is the key to success in Adlandpro Community, in networking and in the election process.

I have to agree with Dennis, great idea, if Bogdan can pull it off...... And I have a great respect and confidence in Bogdan.

Have a wonderful and blessed day!!!
Take care,
Jo

Hi Jo
Hi Gang

Yes Bogdan want's to try this to have the POTW Forum as a Landing Page after login.
The thing in the works is that we will Revamp the POTW Forum (FACE LIFT IT UP!)

Another thing is not only a face lift but also we will rebuild it Search Engine Friendly
Plus Adlandpro Member Friendly,Plus stressing to the members and new people to Signup with Adlandpro and also to vote and Post that they voted.

When this is all said and done Barry and the POTW Team can Get Back to where they left off and Keep it Running as usual with the same but new Forum.

All This will be Bogdan And POTW Team Approved.

Good Going Adlanders it's great to see those Stats on Google And on any Search Engines First Pages.Like Kathleen mentioned The FB, Twitter, YouTube, Digg, Liken, postings The POTW Forum another Great way to First (Remind inactive ADP Members That adlandpro is still a Thriving Community and moving forward with lots to offer)
Also These post show that there is something for everyone in the adlandpro community not only in network marketing but also in 100's of areas thus hopefully more signups.

Thanks All
Dennis

Yes Kathleen, I would have voted without hearing from you. After I made my initial post, I realized that I was once unknown to this community. Prior to hearing from you, I had already decided to visit each nominee and invite their friendship. I realized that I was wrong in deciding not to vote. MY BAD!!!! You were not an influence in my decision. And I encouraged others to follow my lead, and vote.

Hi Jo,

You saw how quickly your post about not wanting to vote resulted in a similar post right after yours. Imagine if nobody had said anything in contrast to that, and if more people posted that they didn't want to vote.

Imagine how the nominees feel if they read that, and if more people said they didn't want to vote, for no real reason.

Just because there may be 4 not-very-well-known people, is no reason for anyone to post about not voting. We can't always expect to have a well-known person on every ballot. We're supposed to encourage people to post in forums and start their own forum and keep it going, so they become more well-known.

Jo,

Were you and the other person who posted about not voting in the 344th expecting a different line-up of nominees that week? The POTW Team doesn't always post the nominations immediately within the same week they're submitted.
