Spiritual Energy

There is so much that can be said about this supreme form of energy which, inasmuch as "The Word" of
St John's Gospel, not only was in the beginning but also was in God and WAS God. A Word that pervades this universe and all universes down to their last atom and which in fact is the Spirit of God, the so-called Holy Spirit, also known as the OM – the Holy Name or Sacred Syllable of the Eastern tradition.

Say the Hindu scriptures that in the beginning Narayana, God, exhales all the hundreds of thousands of Universes. And that in doing so, He gives commence to a chain of cosmic events in which the four material elements are created, in succession, out of a first element that neither is quite spiritual, nor is it quite material but is mid way between both: it is the Akasha principle of Vedanta and the Quintessence or Ether of the cabalists, also referred to by Buddhists as Space, which not only fills the entire universe down to the last particle but also, inasmuch as the principle and basic constituent of everything material in the world - including us and all other living entities - perpetually activates, by its own power, the entire process of creation.

Narayana as the Cosmic Principle

Furthermore, this supreme form of Energy is perpetually contained in prana together with the air that we breathe and also in the food that we eat and the water that we drink. It enlivens and nurtures us humans and all animals and plants and sustains this whole universe; in its absence, we quite simply could not live, and this universe could not exist: it would disappear.

Now this is the theory behind it, one that in its more formal way is mainly exposed by the Advaita Vedanta system of the Hindus (*) And in essence, it is a knowledge that belongs in the realm of Metaphysics, which by its own nature cannot even be approached - let alone fully understood – because to begin with, we lack the words to do it properly - all the more in the western countries.

But what about the practice? Can this Spiritual Energy be approached, say, in a direct way?

Well yes, it can. But we need a genuine and divinely empowered spiritual master to show us the way.

Otherwise it is through a symbolic and highly intuitive approach that we can understand how.

Elsewhere I have explained how a simple symbol, the circle with a dot in its
center, can help us understand certain metaphysical truths that are so high and deep in their essence that are extremely difficult to approach - let alone to know in full, as has just been said above. In this circle, which symbolizes the universe, the central dot represents the Spiritual Principle, God, acting like a central Sun; and the rest of the circle represents the material universe with us, humans, at its circumference. Yet the center, inasmuch as the Principle of this circle, is the essential part of it without which it could not exist.

And if we want to figure out how does the Spiritual Principle reaches us to enliven and nurture us by its Divine Energy, we can imagine that it is through the innumerable radios which - like the spokes of a wheel - fill the intermediate space between the center and us. This Spiritual Principle not only has created the entire universe including us, but actually travels through, and pervades it through this medium.

The center of a spoked-wheel as a symbol of God. Here the wheel only
has 24 spokes, but they are supposed to be infinite in number

In a way, this Supreme Form of Energy is ALL that is, and everything else is but a lower vibration of it.

At the other end of the circle. i.e. on its circumference, are we humans occupying it in the form of the infinite dots that this circumference consists of, together with all animals and plants and everything else material in this planet. And here does the magic of the Spiritual Energy acts itself: we essentially live and thrive thanks to the energy of the oxygen that enters our bodies and nurtures every one of our cells as we inhale the vivifying air filled with the divine prana that it contains and which ultimately comes from God.

And it is also through the magic of this same symbol, the circle, that we can additionally perceive how prodigious this Spiritual Energy is: if now the circle symbolizes us and no longer the universe, then it will be our own heart that will be represented by its center, as will our arteries and veins be represented by its innumerable, invisible radios; and these arteries and veins will be carrying the vital prana in the oxygen branched out from our hearts, and contained in our blood, down to the last cell in our bodies to enliven and nurture them – just like that same divine prana has been just carried from God in the center of the universe to its periphery to enliven and nurture all of us - in fact, all living entities in the universe.

(To be continued)

Thank you,

Luis Miguel Goitizolo

(*) NOTE: In the Vedantic concept, there is an all pervading Brahman slowly stirring into movement and the emanation of a basic vibration, a sound called the Omkara. From this basic vibration, in space, called the Akasha principle, manifests the vayu principle, the agni principle, the jala principle and the prithvi principle (i.e. the four material elements: respectively air, fire, water and earth).

And here, also provided by my dear friend mister Sundararajan Mohan from India, is Background information and astounding images of the tallest Shiva temple in the world located in Karnataka, South India. If there is a religious cult in the world that deserves to be referred to as cosmic, that is the cult of Lord Shiva in India. Enjoy.

Subject: Shiva Temple
Murudeshwara
temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, lies in the holy beach town in the Bhatkal Taluk of Uttara Kannada district in the state of Karnataka , India . Situated between the Honnavar and Bhatkal town(about 12kms) The statue of Shiva here is the world's tallest and it lies on the coast of the Arabian Sea .
The Statue of Shiva with Ravana handing Atma Linga to Bramhin boy(Lord Ganesha)
History

The name "Murudeshwara" means Shiva or Eeshwara. The significance of this holy town dates to the time of Ramayana. By penance dedicated to the AtmaLinga, the divine Lingam of Shiva procures invincibility and immortality to the Hindu Gods. Ravana, the Lanka King worshipped Shiva with devotion to attain immortality by obtaining the AtmaLinga. Lord Shiva appeared before Ravana and asked him what he wanted. By this time Lord Vishnu to change Ravana's mind on behest of Narada. As a result of this plot, Ravana asks for Goddess Parvathi, and Lord Shiva offers him.
On his way back to Lanka Narada tricks Ravana that the real Parvathi was in Pathala. So Ravana lets off Parvathi and went to Pathala and marries a king's daughter thinking that she was Parvathi. When he returns back to Lanka his mother then asks for linga. Ravana knowing that he was tricked is angry with Vishnu and meditates to please Lord Shiva.
Lord Shiva appears and Ravana asks for His forgiveness. And this time, Ravana requests the AtmaLinga as his boon. Lord Shiva agreed to give him the boon with a condition that it should never be placed on the ground. It is believed that the AtmaLinga was ever placed on the ground, all the powers would return to Lord Shiva again. Having obtained his boon, Ravana started back on his journey to Lanka.
Sage Narada, realised that with the AtmaLinga, Ravana may obtain immortality and create havoc on earth, approached the Lord Ganesh to help him. As Ravana was nearing Gokarna, Lord Vishnu blocked the sun to make it appear as dusk. Ravana now had to perform his evening rituals but was worried because with the AtmaLinga in his hands, he would not be able to do his rituals. At this time, Lord Ganesh, disguised as a Brahmin boy came near him.
Ravana requested him to hold the AtmaLinga until he performed his puja, and told him not to place it on the ground. Ganesh struck a deal with him saying that he would call Ravana thrice, and if Ravana did not return within that time, he would place the AtmaLinga on the ground. As predicted, before Ravana could return after completing his rituals, Ganesh had already placed the AtmaLinga on the ground. Vishnu then removed his illusion and it was daylight again.
Ravana got really angry that he was tricked and tried to uproot the AtmaLinga and destroy it but could not. In a fit of rage he threw the case covering it to a place called Sajjeshwara, 23 miles away. Then he threw the lid of the case to a placed called Guneshwara (now Gunavanthe)and Dhareshwara, 10-12 miles away. Finally, he threw the cloth covering the AtmaLinga to a placed called Mrideshwara in Kanduka-Giri (Kanduka Hill). Mrideshwara has been renamed to Murudeshwara.

Dear Friends,

We can see the below video thanks to a kind deference from Bogdan Fiedur who recently came across it while navigating the Web.

Here is a summary of its contents:

Dwaraka, the lost city, which is mentioned in the Mahabharata as being gradually submerged into the ocean, was recently found in the Arabian Sea off the coast of Gujarat, and dated at 3000-1500 BC. This confirms both the antiquity of the Mahabharata and Ramayana, as well as the historical truth of the works...After end of Krishna's Avatar on the earth the powerful dark-bodied Kali Age descended. The oceans rose and submerged the whole of Dwaraka." According to Vishnu Purana - Dwaraka was submerged by the sea right after the Lord Krishna's Avatar. In the early eighties an important archaeological site was found in India, at Dwaraka, the site of the legendary city of Lord Krishna. Now, it is discovered that the whole coast of western India sank by nearly 40 feet around 1500 B.C. E. Why is that the rediscovery of Dwaraka has not attracted the same degree of attention in the West??? for more information check www.arisearjuna.org, where you can find more articles about vedic culture and Indian history.

Thank you,

Luis Miguel Goitizolo

You may know Akhenaton or
Akhenaten (the 'living spirit of Aten'), the Pharaoh of the Eighteenth dinasty of Egypt who ruled for 17 years and died perhaps in 1336 or 1334 BC. He is especially noted for abandoning traditional Egyptian polytheism and introducing the worship centered on Aten, usually described as a monotheistic cult. Here is his famous 'Hymn to Aten', a wonderful poem said by some scholars to have inspired the Psalm 104,
celebrating the power and virtues of Aten as the creator and giver of life.

'Hymn to Aten'

Thou arisest fair in the horizon of Heaven,
O Living Aten, Beginner of Life.
When thou dawnest in the East,
Thou fillest every land with thy beauty.
Thou art indeed comely, great, radiant and high over every land.
Thy rays embrace the lands to the full extent of all that thou hast made,
For thou art Re and thou attainest their limits
And subdues them for thy beloved son.
Thou art remote yet thy rays are upon the earth.
Thou art in the sight of men, yet thy ways are not known.
When thou settest in the Western horizon,
The earth is in darkness after the manner of death.
Men spend the night indoors with their head covered,
The eye not seeing its fellow.
Their possessions might be stolen, even when under their heads,
And they would be unaware of it.
Every lion comes forth from its lair
And all snakes bite.
Darkness lurks and the earth is silent
When their Creator rests in his habitation.
The earth brightens when thou arisest in the Eastern horizon, [...]
Thou drivest away the night when thou givest forth thy beams.
The Two Lands are in festival.
They awake and stand upon their feet
For thou hast raised them up.
They wash their limbs, they put on raiment
And raise their arms in adoration at thy appearance.
The entire earth performs its labors.
[...] Thou appointest every man to his place and satisfiest his needs.
Everyone receives his sustenance and his days are numbered.
Their tongues are diverse in speech [...]
And their color is differentiated,
For thou hast distinguished the nations.
Thou makest the waters under the earth
And thou bringest them forth [as the Nile] at thy pleasure to sustain the people of Egypt
Even as thou hast made them live for thee,
O Divine Lord of them all, toiling for them,
The Aten Disk of the day time, great in majesty!
All distant foreign lands also, thou createst their life.
Thou hast placed a Nile in heaven to come forth for them
And make a flood upon the mountains like the sea
In order to water the fields of their villages.
How excellent are thy plans, O Lord of Eternity!
- a Nile in the sky is thy gift to foreigners
And to beasts of their lands;
But the true Nile flows from under the earth for Egypt.
[...] When you rise you stir everyone for the King,
Every leg is on the move since you founded the earth.
You rouse them for your son who came from your body,
The King who lives by Maat, the Lord of the Two Lands,
Neferkheperure, Sole-one-of Re,
The son of Re who lives by Maat, the lord of crowns,
Akhenaten, great in his lifetime;
And the great Queen whom he loves, the Lady of the Two Lands,
Nefer-nefru-Aten Nefertiti, living forever!
