Hi Myrna,

Did you try that non-aerosol natural oil spray from Dr. Mercola? It is supposed to make your cats and dogs "invisible" to the fleas and ticks. Somehow it makes it so they can't detect your pet is there. I guess they find them from the carbon dioxide when they exhale, or something like that. The oil is something indigents in South America use to keep the bugs and such out of their homes that don't have windows and doors. They say it works really well. Mine don't go outside though, so once I get it licked in the house, I'm good. (Of course there is the question of how they got inside in the first place. I am thinking maybe at the vet's, even outside the vet's carting them in and out. But sometimes we sit in the waiting room, too, with others....)

I am making progress with the diatomaceous earth and Borax. I think they both work. It's just a matter of keeping after it. I am now trying the diatomaceous earth on my irises outside. I just started that. I don't like using any poisons as our environment has enough toxins in it. I can hardly believe we are poisoning our environment that we and our children must live in. Don't get me started.... Perhaps many of our diseases, and degeneration, is at least partially caused by all the toxins we now live in.

Here's to a better year this year, where truth about our food, pesticides, herbicides, and other poisons becomes known so we can do something about it, and real cures for disease, and not management of disease, become well known.

Take care,

Cheryl

Hi Cheryl,

So I am late at answering you. No I never tried the spray from Dr Mercola. But the way things are going I may look into it.

The fleas are finally gone, but there is this brown bug that keeps coming in on Buddy. They are easy to kill, but they just keep coming in on him, even with much colder temps. I am at my wits end to know what to do anymore. This brown bug keeps getting in his chin, I dig one out like every other day.

How are your cats doing?

Hi Myrna,

I think that oil spray would work for you.

I am gaining on the fleas!!! My husband's cat is now occasionally letting me comb her. That helps. First time I got 8, a few days later, 4!

I just finished combing Nani and just got one tiny flea so that one didn't make it to reproducing age. Yea!!! I still have diatomaceous earth down, and two bedrooms have borax. I think they both work though I think the diatomaceous earth is less toxic for all of us. I tried it on the aphids on the irises outside. They are covered with snow right now so I don't know how they're doing. More snow tonight and it's supposed to be a big storm for this area which doesn't really get very much snow at all. I am not a snow person. (You know, a real Florida girl!)

My sick cat is a real trooper. If I knew a lot more about herbs and stuff like that, plus more about cat nutrition, we might accomplish something but the cancer on her jaw is quite a bit bigger. She is very thin, but determined. She won't eat the tuna water or clam juice and insists on her regular food. She can't eat much at all and I think she thinks the food is biting her. Still she gets some down. She still comes to bed at night and purrs in my ear, and keeps me company at my desk during the day. So, she is not ready to graduate yet.... I think the alkaline water I am giving them now, has made a big difference as she was already not being social when I started giving it to them and it changed everything. Just not enough...

I am about to leave here for the night and I don't see her here so I'll be she has beaten me to bed...LOL

Thanks for asking, Myrna.

Hi Cheryl,

Here is a great site for dogs and cats. http://www.onlynaturalpet.com/cats/
You can look for something for the cancer. I used this company with Puffy, it is good.

Hi Myrna,

I am still not done with the fleas but much less now. I just want them all gone so I keep working on it.

My older cat is still with us and very thin. She is actually eating a bit better, still not much but more than she was and she is not acting quite like it's biting her now. I am still giving her the alkaline water.

To top things off, we said we'd watch my brother-in-law's cat while he is in rehab from his back surgery. So, now it turns out that she is only 9 months old, and has not been spayed. I am taking no chances and she has an appointment Monday. Next it turns out that she is the alpha cat of her litter....we already discovered that when she got out of the room we first put her in to acclimate and was aggressive towards my older one, and my husband's cat (who is also pretty dominant) backed down immediately. So, she is in a room by herself, also because we want her tested for a couple things before she is with ours though I am not sure she is going to be with ours since we discovered her aggressiveness. Why upset our "family.?" Monday's event should slow her down slightly but I doubt if it will slow her down too much. We are hoping she is not pregnant or coming into heat. My brother-in-law said she's never been in heat but that she did get out a couple times. What does that mean? She got our for 5 minutes till he got her back in again, or she was out all night? Big difference! I think we might have to keep her till June and I am hoping it will be shorter than that.

We are having lots of fun here!

The weather has been nicer though with the sun shining a bit. My best friend from Florida arrives Monday for a visit and a seminar.

We have a busy household!
