Hi everyone!
Well, I left the care of our cats to my husband for a couple weeks which will end soon. I was not getting many fleas off the cats so we'll see how it goes when I get back in a couple days.

He reports my oldest cat is still doing ok and that she even tried to eat some "cookies." I don't know that she can but he thinks she ate a couple.

Our boarder (my husband's brother's cat/kitten) has eaten through some of my husband's computer cords and his keyboard and mouse don't work now. She has escaped from the room she's in to the rest of the house a couple times since I've been away. We are not trusting her with ours, especially my older one, because she has given us signs she was aggressive towards ours. His brother said she was the alpha kitten of the litter. My husband says she is eating even more and eats double what ours get now. I am going to have to see that. If she's not getting fat, ok, but it is hard for me to believe she is eating that much.

I have been enjoying wearing shorts and short sleeves here at my home in Florida. It is hard for my son to keep up with everything here so I need to come back again soon though I am going to visit my mother and help on my sister's iris farm in CA in about 6 weeks. I am just working on keeping up with my stuff in between here.

I am still open to flea eradication ideas as I want more than just under control. The diatomaceous earth has been working and maybe it will completely eliminate them given a little more time.

It is soon going to be a challenge to keep up with the gardening.

What's going on with everyone else these days?

Cheryl

The battle of the fleas continues. Now I am getting far fewer fleas and although the diatomaceous earth helps immensely, vacuuming frequently and combing the cats is a must. I hope to finally be rid of them soon. Next I have to figure out how to keep them out of the house since our cats do not go out. A trip to the vet is suspect for one of them getting a toehold in here.

My older cat has passed on. She was determined she was going to stay with me and take care of me. Even my husband said she was my shadow. She was always wherever I was. Cleaning was a fun job to her because I was opening doors and drawers and she had to see in everything. She didn't like my typing over her when she was in my lap so she would move behind me in my desk chair. That meant I got the front 3 or 4 inches of the chair. She is missed by all.

We are getting more sunshine and many things are blooming. It's crazy trying to get everything planted and fertilized. I am helping my mother-in-law with her gardening as she is recovering from a fractured ankle and is in PT now doing great!

Many things to do!

Cheryl

Hi Cheryl,

Get some Borax and put around your house. Borax is great and natural. I have never had ants since I put it around my house 6 or more years ago. It got rid of my fleas too. My cat walked through it and it never hurt him. Borax is great for clothes too. lol
