Hi:
Have you ever noticed that "success" coaches (ie; Tony Robbins, etc.) focus on personal development a lot? Have you ever wondered why? Why don't they just give 'business growth' tips?
I often tell business owners that their business development will almost never exceed their personal development. The two go hand in hand.
Take anger, for example. Where does anger come from? Anger often comes from fear. Often the fear stems from unresolved issues.
Instead of asking "Why am I reacting this way?" people often find it easier to "shoot the messenger." Figuratively speaking, of course. lol
When I feel anger, personally, I try to ask myself "WHY am I reacting this way?" Often, the honest answer is that *someone* triggered an unresolved issue that bothers me. They've pushed my buttons. No one can push a button that doesn't exist.
We have a very intelligent group of people here. Peter, Gary, Greer, Heather, David, Arthur, etc. Look back the past 10 pages. You'll see the names. It's been my experience that most intelligent people have strong opinions.
Know what else I've noticed? I've noticed that when intelligent people get heated up, like in the discussions that happen in my board - a lot of good information comes out.
So - I say hats off to intelligent, opinionated people and stimulating conversation. You help me grow by giving me alternative points of view. I'll take your company over a group of lemmings anyday of the week!
: )
