Hello Peter, this video of Glenn Beck was excellent. Thanks for sharing it and I think I may have posted this article before but it bears repeating.
Why Christians support Israel
By Dr. John Hagee
© 2011 WorldNetDaily.com

There is an explosion of Christian support for Israel in America following the terrorist attacks of 9-11. The answer is very simple: The Jewish people have a biblical mandate to occupy and control the land of Israel.
God the Father was the first Zionist. As the original landowner, He gave to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and their descendants the land of Israel forever. Consider the following Bible facts:
All other nations were created by an act of men; Israel was created by an act of God (Genesis 12:1-3)!
God Himself entered into an elaborate blood covenant (which was eternal and unconditional) with Abraham. In this covenant, God gave the Jews a biblical mandate to possess the land forever (Genesis 15:8-21).
The boundaries of Israel were registered in the Word of God (Genesis 15:18-21 and Ezekiel 47:13 through 48:1-29).
God has personally sworn to protect and defend the nation of Israel (Psalm 121:4 and Ezekiel 38:18-23).
God designed the flag of Israel and promised to gather the Jews back to the land under those colors (Isaiah 11:12).
Jehovah God promised that Israel would be re-created in a day (Isaiah 66:8). That became a reality on May 15, 1948 when the United Nations announced the formal recognition of the state of Israel.
God has chosen the nation of Israel and the Jewish people as His own inheritance (Psalm 33:12).
Is it not logical to state that since God created Israel, and defends Israel, that those who fight with Israel, fight with God?!
Replacement theologians teach that there is not one word in the New Testament that remotely suggests that Christians should support Israel. Wrong! Jesus Christ is our example and He personally taught us by His conduct that gentiles who support Israel have His special blessing.
In Luke, chapter seven, Jesus entered Capernaum where a certain Roman centurion (a gentile) had a servant that was about to die. When the centurion heard that Jesus was coming, he sent Jewish elders to Him, pleading for Jesus to come and heal the critically ill servant. Notice the logic the Jewish elders used with Jesus. They said, "And when they came to Jesus, they begged him earnestly, saying that the one (the centurion) was worthy, for he loves our nation (Israel) and has built us a synagogue. Then Jesus went with them ..." (Luke 7:4-6).
Does it make a difference if Christians bless the nation of Israel? The question must be asked: "Why did God select the house of Cornelius to be the first gentile house to hear the Gospel and to receive the outpouring of the Holy Spirit?" The clear answer is recorded in the book of Acts, chapter 10. The scriptural truth is this: Jesus went to the house of this gentile and healed the servant who was near death because this gentile had blessed the nation of Israel.
Cornelius also was a Roman centurion (a gentile), living in the coastal city of Caesarea who is described in the Scripture as "a devout man and one who feared God ... and who gave alms generously to the people." Which he controlled through the Roman Army. The Scripture repeats that the reason God selected the residence of Cornelius for this great spiritual blessing was because he blessed the Jewish people. Verse 31 records, "Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your alms are remembered in the sight of God" (Acts 10:31).
Is it really important that Christians bless the nation of Israel and the Jewish people? Jehovah God told Abraham that all anti-Semites are under His curse (Genesis 12:1-3). Jesus Christ announced that all anti-Semites will come under the judgment of God during the judgment of the nations (Matt 25:31-46).
Who are these hungry, naked, thirsty, sick, imprisoned strangers of Matthew, chapter 25? They are the Jewish people of history, not the church. Jesus clarifies this with:
"And the King will answer and say unto them. 'Assuredly, I say unto you, inasmuch as you did it unto the least of these my brethren [the Jews], you did it unto me.' Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.' And these shall go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life" (Matthew 25:40-41 and 46).
Is it important to be right on the Israel question? When you consider that being wrong brings you under the curse of God, it's important! Israel is not a "take it or leave it" subject. It is a life and death matter – eternal life!
If you believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God, and those who reject its truths have entered into idolatry and rebellion; if you believe Jehovah God is the God of covenant whose integrity would make it impossible for Him to break covenant; if you believe that Jesus Christ is our example and that we are to follow Him, there is no biblical alternative but to support the nation of Israel and the Jewish people.

And I am sure I posted this survey in the past too, but it too, bears repeating.
And for those who would like to join Christians United For Israel (CUFI) here is the link. You will also see a link on the right column for a free e-book that I personally recommend. The first few pages gives some very good information on the history of Israel.

Hello Friends,

The issue of demonizing Israel has become the past time of MSM world wide including leaders in the Western World. The attacks by jihadi terrorists, the continuous bombing of Southern Israel are virtually ignored but when Israel retaliates the world condemns her actions. Basically the understanding is don't defend yourself against attacks made against Israel and its citizens. I wonder if any other country would be condemned for defending itself? I think not.

A case in point is the biased and one sided UN Goldstone report that condemned Israel for actions taken during Cast Lead. The MSM whooped it up no end but when after 2 years Judge Goldstone reversed his opinions and stated that if he knew then what he knows now he never would have written the report. MSM is deathly silent and isn't reporting about it at all. As a matter of fact Goldstone originally wanted to publish his article in the New York Times but they refused so he eventually published it in the Washington Post.

I believe that many are still not aware what Israel really stands for and what life is like in Israel for all its citizens, from all religions, creeds and races. There are a few brave souls left who are willing to stand up for Israel and educate those that aren't familiar with what this small democracy stands for. Glen Beck is one of them and the below video is a must watch if you want to hear truth instead of propaganda. Again I personally thank Glen Beck for being the mensch he is.

Shalom,

Peter

RE: HSIG - Washington Post - Shameful U.S. Inaction On Syria’s massacres"
4/24/2011 6:52:55 AM
Hello Friends,

The Washington Post's editorial on B Hussein's reactions and actions (more like lack of) in regard to Syria's Assad murdering protesters is quite revealing. What it reveals is not B Hussein's inadequacy since we all know that by now but that the progressive media is revealing it and writing about it. Up till now they were covering up all his faux pas but now they too are willing to tell the world this guy is an empty suit and has no idea what's going on in the world and how to deal with it.

What I find even more astounding is how B Hussein reacts to the massacres by calling them "outrageous". Those of you that recall he called Gaddafi's massacres "outrageous" as well but there in the end he
finally decided to act (Hillary called the shots there). Not that his actions were what should have been done but the bottom line is that the no fly zone turned into a bombing spree in which forces loyal to Gaddafi were stopped for a while but are still there fighting and many of the protesters are being killed as well (by US and NATO bombs). The worst part of the whole fiasco is that they never checked who those rebels are and whether they aren't agents of Iran and Al Qaeda. Surprise , surprise the large majority of them are jihadis and many were fighting US troops in Iraq.

We all know B Hussein won't take any military actions against Assad and the question is why. Not that I think he should but the question is still a viable one. What's the difference between massacres by tyrants in Syria, Iran and Lybia? Why did he totally ignore the massacre, rape, and torture in Iran after the fraudulent elections there and now again during the latest uprisings there? I've stated my opinion about that many times in this thread and elsewhere and the crux of the issue is that Iran is an extreme radical fundamentalist regime and Lybia and Egypt were more or less secular Muslim regimes. You might ask why then won't he attack Syria militarily is a legitimate one but the answer is obvious. Syria is Iran's closest ally and part of the Iran/Syria axis of evil. Iran is supporting Assad now directly and through its proxy Hezbollah against the protesters and rebels in Syria.

Obama has an Islamic agenda that is transparent and should be obvious to all by now and the more radical the Islamic country is the more he ignores any human rights violations and outright massacres within their borders. The worst he can do or say is "outrageous".

I'm not a supporter of the Washington Post and under normal circumstances wouldn't use it as a source but when even they realize how badly B Hussein is functioning and publicize it they deserve to be quoted.

Shalom,

Peter

Editorial Board Opinion

Shameful U.S. inaction on Syria’s massacres

By Editorial, Friday, April 22, 5:16 PM

FOR THE PAST five weeks, growing numbers of Syrians have been gathering in cities and towns across the country to demand political freedom — and the security forces of dictator Bashar al-Assad have been responding by opening fire on them. According to Syrian human rights groups, more than 220 people had been killed by Friday. And Friday may have been the worst day yet: According to Western news organizations, which mostly have had to gather information from outside the country, at least 75 people were gunned down in places that included the suburbs of Damascus, the city of Homs and a village near the southern town of Daraa, where the protests began.

Massacres on this scale usually prompt a strong response from Western democracies, as they should. Ambassadors are withdrawn; resolutions are introduced at the U.N. Security Council; international investigations are mounted and sanctions applied. In Syria’s case, none of this has happened. The Obama administration has denounced the violence — a presidential statement called Friday’s acts of repression “outrageous” — but otherwise remained passive. Even the ambassador it dispatched to Damascus during a congressional recess last year remains on post.

The administration has sat on its hands despite the fact that the Assad regime is one of the most implacable U.S. adversaries in the Middle East. It is Iran’s closest ally; it supplies Iranian weapons to Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza Strip for use against Israel. Since 2003 it has helped thousands of jihadists from across the Arab world travel to Iraq to attack American soldiers. It sought to build a secret nuclear reactor with the help of North Korea and destabilized the pro-Western government of neighboring Lebanon by sponsoring a series of assassinations.

Like people across the Middle East, the protesters in Syria say that they are seeking the establishment of a democratic system. A statement issued by organizers of the protests Friday called for an end to torture and killings by security forces; the release of all political prisoners; an investigation into the deaths of those killed so far; and reform of the constitution, including a limit on presidential terms. The mass demonstrations on Good Friday were called to show that the cause is neither Islamic nor sectarian.

Yet the Obama administration has effectively sided with the regime against the protesters. Rather than repudiate Mr. Assad and take tangible steps to weaken his regime, it has proposed, with increasing implausibility, that his government “implement meaningful reforms,” as the president’s latest statement put it. As The Post’s Karen DeYoung and Scott Wilson reported Friday, the administration, which made the “engagement” of Syria a key part of its Middle East policy, still clings to the belief that Mr. Assad could be part of a Middle East peace process; and it would rather not trade “a known quantity in Assad for an unknown future.”

As a practical matter, these considerations are misguided. Even if his massacres allow him to survive in power, Mr. Assad will hardly be a credible partner for Israel. And no matter what happens, Syria will not return to the police-state stability it has known during the past several decades.

As a moral matter, the stance of the United States is shameful. To stand by passively while hundreds of people seeking freedom are gunned down by their government makes a mockery of the U.S. commitment to human rights. In recent months President Obama has pledged repeatedly that he would support the aspiration of Arabs for greater freedom. In Syria, he has not kept his word.

RE: HSIG - What If Iran Invade Saudi Arabia - Who Will B Hussein Support?
4/25/2011 3:16:41 PM
Hello Friends,

It appears that things are really heating up between Iran and Saudi Arabia. Iran has declared an ultimatum against the Saudis warning them to stop supporting the Bahrain Royal family and government.

Now this could be interesting for a number of reasons one of which is the threat to send Iranian troops to assist the shi'ite Muslims protesting against the Saudi Government. The outcome if this happens in itself would be interesting to watch but what interests me even more is which side B Hussein's administration would support. Both the Saudi and Iranian governments are radical Islamic regimes (and B Hussein loves them) but the Saudi's are US allies and the Iranians are enemies. That in itself should be enough for the Saudis to get B Hussein's support but to date he's done absolutely nothing in regard to the out right murders, tortures, rapes and so much more the Iranian's are guilty of and he's been very hesitant to take any steps at all in putting an end to their threat to the world at large with their soon to be nuclear capabilities.

I'm curious to see what he'll do ........ if anything at all since that's what he's best at doing ........ NOTHING until he finally makes a decision and inevitably the wrong one.

Shalom,

Peter

FROM JOSEPH FARAH'S G2 BULLETIN

Does ultimatum mean Iran will invade Saudi Arabia?

Call says nations should 'prevent dispatch of equipment for suppression of Bahrain'

Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa

In what could produce a Muslim vs. Muslim military confrontation in the powderkeg that is the Middle East, Shi'a Iran is considering handing Sunni Saudi Arabia an ultimatum over sending its troops to crack down on the Shi'a majority in nearby Bahrain – a development that would be tantamount to armed conflict between the two bastions of Islam, according to a report from Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin.

Iranian officials even have gone so far as to suggest blocking the Straits of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf to stop ships carrying military supplies to Bahrain from the Saudi kingdom which, along with the United Arab Emirates, sent troops there at the request of Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa.

Al-Khalifa had requested the troops to put down an increase in violence by Shi'a protesters, who make up some 70 percent of the Bahraini population. Both countries sent in some 1,000 troops each along with military equipment provided to them by the United States over time under military assistance programs.

The Bahraini regime and the Saudis blame Iran for instigating the violent demonstrations.

In what now could be a significant escalation between Iran and Saudi Arabia, Mohsen Rezael, secretary of Iran's Expediency Council, called for an "ultimatum" to be given to the Saudis in an effort to get them to withdraw their forces from Bahrain.

In making his threat, Rezael said that Iran and Iraq should give deliver the warning.

"Iran and Iraq should give Saudi Arabia an ultimatum to withdraw its forces from Bahrain," Rezael said. "Otherwise, both countries can probe the Saudi-bound weapons in the Strait of Hormuz and prevent the dispatch of equipment for suppression of Bahrain's people to that country."

Just as Rezael has invoked Iraq in Iran's dispute with Saudi Arabia, Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi is to pay a visit to Baghdad shortly with a high-ranking delegation of military and defense officials.

As a further warning to Saudi Arabia, Supreme Leader's Adviser for Military Affairs Maj. Gen. Yahya Rahim Safavi said Riyadh's military intervention in Bahrain also could be a pretext to foreign invasion of Saudi Arabia should popular protests increase in the kingdom.

The Saudi regime is very concerned with increasing unrest in its Eastern province where the population primarily is Shi'a. There already have been a number of demonstrations there that were put down quickly by Saudi police forces.

That region also is where most of the kingdom's oil production takes place.

"The presence and attitude of Saudi Arabia in Bahrain sets an incorrect precedence for similar future events," Safavi warned, "and Saudi Arabia should consider this fact that one day the very same event may recur in Saudi Arabia itself and Saudi Arabia may come under invasion for the very same excuse."

Hi Peter, thanks again for two great posts. Between this thread and "The President That Hates His Country" thread, you have really been on a roll the last couple of days keeping all of us informed, and in my opinion you do a really good job and I, for one, certainly appreciate it.

Yes, we are gradually beginning to see a few of the Obama administration's faux pas and inadequacies being reported by the MSM and it is about time. They should have been doing this to a much greater degree and most importantly, long before this empty suit was elected to our highest office.

What will the Obama administration do about Iran who is guilty of out right murders, tortures, rapes and etc? I guess we will just have to wait and see and pray that the right decision is made but it will be interesting considering Obama's transparent Islamic agenda when both Iran and Saudia Arabia are Muslim countries.
