I dont know what point you are trying to make Joe. Though my viewpoints are mine - European influenced maybe, but more hybred than Spanish! lol
I read the link to the "RightWingNews" whatever that is. And cant see what you are trying to say. I can imagine that for the vast majority of black Americans, , it must be an additional source of pride to see Barak Obama about to become your 44th President. What a pity Martin Luther King was not alive to see the day. But as the majority of the electorate were white, he must have had something to offer for more than one ethnic minority.
His election has been met with great enthusiasm in most countries in the world - left, right and moderate. That must say something to you too. It is believed that he is the right choice for America, to start to heal the terrible relationships it has with the rest of the world and to stop a war that the american people cannot afford, both financially and politically.
So that leaves us with a minority of voters who didnt like his policies and a smaller one that, as Thomas has so rightly pointed out, would never have even doubted his nationality or his religious beliefs, had he had blond hair, blue eyes and a german, dutch, scandinavian or irish name.
I have read some of the vicious posts over the past few month by people who seemed unable to persuade voters of the merits of their candidate and resorted to the vulgar political "dirty tricks" tactics to knock the opposing candidate, instead.
I imagine that this kind of conduct is of great embarassment to the vast majority of americans and the fact that some of them may incite someone to try to assassinate their own President must surely be something about which they are very concerned and deeply ashamed.
