HELLO MYRNA !!!

Thanks for adding a new word / new element beside the BUSH!!!

CAN YOU MYRNA, OR ANYONE ELSE, IMAGINE OUR LIVES WITHOUT BUSHES?

Or, should I say without GAMES?

DEAR LADY,

WARM WISHES!

Luka

Hi Luka,

Thanks for the invite. Give a kid a day off from school and they start forums threads now a days. :)

I found it amusing that John and Myrna used politicians as prime examples of "beating around the bush".  I wonder if they are referring to President Bush. He does beat around the Bush doesn't he?

Parents tend to beat around the bush when a child asks a question that they think the child isn't ready for yet.

In business it is most prevalent. Some beat around the bush endlessly.

Examples are never ending. Good topic you raised.

Shalom,

Peter

Hi Folks!

I found it amusing that you have snitched my words, Peter!

First, about the kids free of school :) .

Second, ONLY ONE PERSON HAS FORCED ME TO BEAT AROUND THE BUSH in my entire life! MY SON!

Being mother (to the Capricorn ) is very inspiring role. Without BEATING AROUND THE BUSH ... I simply cann`t imagine where  could we be?

I am a smoker and at the age of 2, my dear son repeated two hundred times: BABY WANTS TO SMOKE, BABY WANTS TO SMOKE!

..... Hmmm...

I gave him a cigarette, telling him: "YES, it`s very good and healthy for the babies ... they can faster grow up .... but you must take the smoke very, very strong, the strongest you can ..."

His face became snowy white, and his eyes came into X ....

NEVER he asked to smoke again.

I think I am World`s Champion in Beating Around The Bush with you, dear Luka.

So, beating around the bush may not always be negative.

Wish to all to have a great day!

Branka

Walking Garbage CanHi Luka,
This is a very interesting subject.  "Beating around the Bush" is an easy way out of a tough situation.  To avoid answering a question that may be embarrising or sound insulting to the one answering the question is almost instinctive.  Unfortunetely, I very seldom "Beat around the Bush."  "Does this dress make me look fat???" To which I would reply, "No.  Of course not.  By the way, do you need another bale of Hay???"  My first wife just did not have a sense of humor at all.  If we are going out and Shirley puts on a new dress or outfit and asks me how she looks, I will hesitate and say, "Well, it looks good, however if you use a different top {or bottom} it may compliment your looks just a little bit more." Obviously she will think about it and respond, "Yes, I know that I have gained some weight, but I really do like this outfit." It may go back and forth for awhile, however I feel that it is much better for me to be truthful with my answer rather than have someone come up to her that hasn't seen her in awhile and say, "Shirley?  Is that you?  I'm sorry, I didn't recognize you at first.  You have gained so much weight."  To which I might ad to our long lost friend  "Oh, Hi Suzie.  I'm sorry I didn't recognize you at first.  I guess it's all those wrinkles that makes you look different."  Yes, I guess there is something to beating around the Bush after all.  Now, when it comes to President Bush, the saying should be, "Beat the Bush" which should have been done a long time ago.  We also have to be very careful which bushes we beat around as well.  Some of those bushes just may be on fire.
GOD BLESS YOU
Mike
