9/18/2008 4:59:50 AM

I WAS ALWAYS CURIOUS : WHY DO WE SO OFTEN CHOSE

Beating Around the Bush

Definitions

beat around the bush
verb to beat around the bush
  1. (idiom) To treat a topic but omit its main points, often intentionally.
  2. (idiom) To delay or avoid talking about something difficult or unpleasant.
Please stop beating around the bush and tell me what the problem is!
Translations:
  • Dutch: rond de pot draaien
  • French: tourner autour du pot
  • German: um den heiíen Brei herum reden
  • Italian: menare il can per l'aia
  • Spanish: andarse por las ramas, darle vueltas al asunto

YOUR OPINION WILL BE VERY APPRECIATED. IT MAY BE EXPRESSED ANY WAY YOU WISH : AS GRAPHICS, FUNNY STORY, QUOTE ...

I use to beat around the bush ... when I am not sure if I deserve what I wish or like to gain :) ... Then, when my self esteem is in a deep dream ... or when I feel luck of knowledge or information, but feel ashamed to admit ...

WHAT`S ABOUT YOU?

I expect you`ll not beat around the bush speaking off beating around the bush :)

Sincerely,

How funny!
Yes I us this technique quite effectively. My mouth is moving-a lot of words are coming out-but I dare you to figure out what I'm talking about.
Used most often in the presence of someone who is asking a lot of questions that are none of their business in order to maintain a polite veneer instead of really saying "Get out of my face you nosy fool!"

Have a good day:)

Hi Luka,

Thanks for your personal message, "Beating Around The Bush" is always used by politicians because they never ever give you a straight answer!

Its also used by people who should "Make Sure Their Brain is Engaged Before They Put Their Mouth Into Gear"

Best Wishes

John.

HI Luka,

Beating around ths bush is playing games.

Politicians
us this all the time, beat around the bush. So what is beating around the bush, but stories, or lies.  I am a firm believing in telling the truth, because sooner or later the truth will prevail.
