Myrna!  Your kitchen is beautiful!  We will have the party at your house!  And of course Phil is invited!  I am now in an apartment and have the standard apartment kitchen, white walls and brown cabinets.  Although I will say, I do have a bit of space, and lots of cabinets, so I am thankful for that.

Oh yeah.... I'm still here.  I think I'll be leaving tomorrow, but I won't believe it until I'm gone.

All these recipes are wonderful!  And Phil is doing such a wonderful job!  I am going to enjoy making them! 

I just have to share that as a little girl I spent six months living with my aunt and uncle in Landisville, Pa. in Lancaster County and I believe they were the happiest days of my life.  I am sure it is a little metropolis by now but back in 19 mumble mumble, it was sheer country and I was smack dab in the middle of Amish Country.  My best friend was an Amish girl by the name of Diane Kaufmann and we had the best time playing.  They lived half a mile down the road and I was always at their house.  And oh boy can they cook!  I don't think I have yet to taste better food!  I still think fondly of those days now and then, wondering how Diane is.  Oh, I forgot!  When I was grown I went back in 19 mumble mumble, still a long time ago, only to find that beautiful farmhouse boarded up.  I actually cried.

And hey!  Post those 90000 chicken recipes, share them with us, or send them to me and I will post them!  Oh yum!

Seems like I'm getting behind again.  Anyway, we're going to catch up now.

Judy, I had forgotten that you were in PA, and I certainly didn't realize that you were so close to Amish country.  I try to get up that way at least once a year, however I haven't made it yet this year.  If you get the chance, I highly recommend the Bed, Breakfast & Barn.  I truly did not want to leave.

Myna, I appreciate the Invite to the Kitchen Party and as I told Judy, I do have several Friends up in PA, so I might surprise you one of these days.  I'll call first though.

Luella, we actually have a small settlement of Amish right here in NC.  Just up past Yanceyville, NC, which is close to the NC/VA line, there is a tiny community called Melton, NC.  I discovered this purely by accident one day when I was sitting in the local Drugstore in Yanceyville having an Orangeade, when a Horse-Drawn wagon pulled into the parking place right out front.  Naturally being the Shy sort that I am, I immediately struck up a conversation and was invited to visit.  At least now whenever I'm not able to get up to PA, I still can get back to that peaceful, simpler lifestyle every once in awhile.  The Amish understand, as we all should if we would but stop and think, God is Good, and He provides for our every need right here on Earth.  It so sad that we seem to have forgotten this.

Anyway, I'm rambling.  However, I am so glad that y'all liked the Recipes and I appreciate the opportunity to share and also to learn many new things.  Now this is what, at least in my opinion, a Forum should be like.  Friends Sharing and Caring With Friends.

I was close to Judy on July 4th.  My girlfriends daughter had us all there for the day.  (she just moved to the area)

I think it would be wonderful for all of us to get together someday in the near future

No Phil, you are not rambling!  I love your story!  In Mississippi I lived close to an Amish community too in Randolph and I would visit and buy produce from them also.  They are so very friendly and love company.  And have you noticed how the children are so very well behaved?  And yes, if we only learned to TRUST God as the Amish do.  Or maybe I should just speak for myself?  (wink)
