I can see the third cat's eyes behind the gray one; these are so beautiful and transport you to an idyllic place and time. So much better than paparazzi chasing down the little royals:)
And your presentations could never be boring-impossible!

Among the many portraits that Goya painted of beautiful ladies of the nobility, there stand out without the least doubt a pair he made of the Duchess of Alba, who, according to some, was Goya's sweetheart for several years. They deserve to be exhibited separately.

Which of the two portraits of the Duchess of Alba is better? The one of 1795 or this one of 1797? Put differently: the one in the white dress, or this one in the black dress? So hard to say. Both are magnificent beyond words.

Sorry I missed your post, Joyce.

About your comment: I could see the mysterious third cat's eyes too, since actually the photo I chose to post among several ones was a bit clearer than the others. On the other hand, however, there is this other photo from the Metropolitan Museum of New York, which itreasures the beautiful painting, which I also was aware of but did not made my mind to post instead mainly for the difference in the color of the background, too greeninsh to my liking, and which does let you see the cat, though indistinctly. (Sorry again, this time for the long paragraph.)

Here it is.

I guess I can post now Goya's extraordinary portrait of the Royal Family of Spain in about 1800. According to the description at Wikipedia: "Man in the shadows in background at left is Goya himself. Others, left to right (all dates are birth-death): Carlos Maria Isidro (1788-1855); the future Fernando VII (1784-1833); Maria Josefa (1744-1801), sister of Carlos IV; Ferdinand's future wife - it was unknown who she would be by the time the work was created; María Isabel (1789-1848); Queen Maria Luisa (1751-1819); Francisco de Paula (1794-1848); King Carlos IV (1748-1819); Don Antonio Pascual, brother of the King (1755-1817); Carlota Joaquina (1775-1830, only part of head visible); Don Luis de Parma (1773-1803) and his wife Maria Luisa(1782-1824), holding baby Carlos Luis (1799-1883), the future Duke of Parma.
