Roger
Frank you have hit the nail on the head. $$$$$$ do speak don't they.
As a special education teacher I wittnessed this also. A severly disabled child was enrolled in our school against the wishes of the parents. He was speechless, in a wheelchair, tube fed, had convulsions and stopped breathing many times a day. Someone reported the parents in for not sending this child to school. He was to ride the bus in his strapped in wheelchair. Of course an aid had to be hired at the parents request and a special aide assigned to the classroom. That was the only way the parents could fight back. If I remember right the parents won and the child was allowed to remain at home BUT a certified teacher was to visit the child on a regular basis. May I ask what were they going to teach the child?
What was this all about? I think it was $7,000 (10 years ago) per child that the state was paying. Ouch, do we waste money or what? This child was to be transported in beautiful Ohio winters, on a school bus, strapped in his wheelchair for whose good?
