Hello Nick,
I had to come back and read your original post again.
I can relate to your statement: "The verses stimulate, stretch, and challenge me. Changes happen within me I am not aware of until I am suddenly confronted with a new thought."
I've been reading "The Te of Piglet" by Benjamin Hoff. It is an inspiring book and gives one so much to reflect on how to embrace "The Way." To be in harmony with the Universe ... to see "Things As They Are."
The other day as I sat outside in the comfort of the warm sun enjoying the peace and tranquility of our backyard reading the words, I was in awe as I realized what I truly want in life is SIMPLICITY. None of the material things I have accumulated over the years meant anything to me at that moment.
I considered the gifts that my Mom had given me over the years. I thought if I had to choose just one what would it be. I realized even those I could give up because the most important gift she gave me was Life. Memories are created in the heart not by the material gifts we are given.
When our heart is open for change we can then embrace that change without question. It just IS.
I've been on this journey of enlightenment and personal understanding for several years. In the particular chapter I was reading, Benjamin Hoff wrote about Wisdom, Happiness and Truth ... this is where my journey is taking me. On my quest to just BE!
I look forward to Simplicity and Harmony as I walk in my quiet places.
Sincerely,
Terry
