Hi Beth,

Im not one of those too who will force my belief on others, but yes, its heartening to read when someone keeps judging Christianity according to what some  so called christians do and behave. I believe we are all free to do our own believing.

this passage from the Bible goes to show how much God respects us that he 'knocks' ... and it tells me a lot! doesn't it?

Revelation 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If any man hear My voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.

I really hope you get hold of that book, I luv this quote  from it.....

'Respect for the right of another to be wrong does  not mean that the wrong is right.'  Ravi Zacharias

Blessings

~ Hi Doug ~

It does seem odd to say last century, doesn't it?  But since Einstein passed away just a couple of years after I was born in '52 ..it seemed a way to bring it into perspective. What seems odd now is that as a little girl visiting my relatives in Tennessee, my great grandfather was still alive and he had been born just a couple of years after the Civil War!

Thanks for setting the tone about not debating 'this' at Adland. I somehow find it hard to believe that Christ wouldn't want one to question one's faith and beliefs... and that you bring up reading a book that "causes much internal though"  is definitely a book I might like to read.

Case for... Series (Case for Christ, Case for Faith etc) by Lee Strobel

It does seem that any one who writes from any point of view is going to come to conclusons that are in tune with their thinking. How objectively does Lee Strobel present this information? I'll see if there's a copy at the Library. They just built a new one and it's within walking distance!

Thanks for your post my Christin Friend,
Beth

Hi Benton,

I never know how to respond to your postings especially when they are actually a response to someone else... but as usual I had to come back and re-read because there's always something within what you write that catches my attention:

"Like maybe the Gnostics who fully embraced the other half of the Bible that Christian scholars branded as evil and banned from the Bible. There were originally 126 Scrolls but only 66 of them made it into the Bible, even though in the Book of Acts, YOUR Bible also said, "All scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for loving, teaching, understanding and reprimanding!"
"All Scripture", includes other books inspired of God and written down by Man, such as the Quoran', The Eddas & The Sagas of the Ancient Norsemen, and the Bagadhvadvita"

It would be wonderful if you could take the time and maybe explain who the Gnostcs were and what scrolls you are referring to as well as some general informaion about world religions that you're more familir with than the rest of us. It's been so many years since I've read about Gnosticism that I'd have to break out a 101 txt book and start all over.

Maybe that's why these topics are of interest to me here at Adlandpro... because it is a way to share what we've read or come across in an open forum....

Hi Pauline!

There is a whole line of thought and being that goes beyond the right/wrong or true/false way of being. And I'm hoping in time that I'll be able to research my way into the writings and readings that once were at my fingertips (many of my books are still packed away because I just don't have enough places for them...)

...and write about how there is neither true nor false but also true and false.... in  a way that is understandable!

Ravi Zacharias
"respect for the right of another"  (to be wrong) (to speak freely) (to be pro choice) (to believe a different faith than you) (to not believe that Christ is the son of God) (to be wrong)  "does not mean that the wrong is right"

Isn't what that statement is saying is the same as "You are not right"  and not that "I have as fully understood you as I'm able to do and that there are many parallels and 'truths' that we share..."

(smiles)

...and you brought up Revelations? OMG! LOL!

Revelation 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If any man hear My voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.

well, this one is simple.... as Benton would say: "YOUR god"  is ...and I'm saying this next part... is addressing a man as though  the relationship needs to be negotiated by accepting someone ino your home and having a meal... no doubt brought to them by women.. LOL

ok.. that's it for now...

Beth
