Thank you for the congratulations. I'm still so happy. I've received my winnings too from Bogdan, for which I am very appreciative.

I can relate to the ice storms you describe, especially the sleet, pellets, then sleet.

Hope you enjoyed your digging. I did some major weeding in the veg patch the other day. My son refuses to let me use any form weed killer (quite rightly of course), but he doesn't seem to have had much time to do the weeding lately!!

Hello Benster!

It is sad when there is so much damage like that. A few years ago, the ice pellets pulverised many of the plants in our garden, made holes in the children's slide (total write off!!) and broke people's windows in the neighbouring village.......

So, when we had the freak storm the other week, I was so worried about Polly and Loupio. I had to go out in out. Not at all pleasant! I also laid down the new slide so that that didn't become holely!

The ice was also blocking the water from running down the side of the house and down the hill at the back. This meant a big pond rising in front of the gite and I had to shovel the ice and water. My muscles were complaining later that day!!

It was exciting, beautiful and downright horrid all at the same time!!

Luckily it was followed by the sun again.
