Hi, again, Thomas,
I see a lot of people put great store in 'truth' but I wonder how many actually understand just what 'truth' means.
The truth can set you free - it can also destroy you as completely as fire destroys paper.
There have been many times in my life when I have asked for the truth and almost as many times when I have not received it - and eventually been pleased that I didn't.
The truth of many matters is not carved in stone and a wise man knows when 'truth' and 'reality' must be transposed.
"How am I doing, doctor?"
Truth:- "I really have no idea how you are staying alive!"
Reality:- "You seem to be holding your own at the moment - we are making progress."
"How do I look?"
Truth:- "Like you died, already."
Reality:- "You have looked better - but you look just fine."
Show me someone who never tells lies and I will show you a liar.
Sometimes a lie between friends is better than the truth.
