When I was going through a very bad time, healthwise, much of the time I was unable to do anything for myself and would keep apologising for not being able to assist.

My wife's response was always "You do keep on keeping on!"

One of my daughters made a badge for me at school saying "'e do keep on keepin' on".

Another time, when I was visiting a radiology department, I jokingly said that this was where they did the electronic vasectomies. A nurse answered with a line from a song that was popular at the time "Dey do do dat dere, don't dey?

Isn't it strange, by the way, how a simple discussion can bring back little memories that had been filed away, almost as if in preparation for later exposure?
